angiemom Posted January 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Is the MDR on the Majesty open early enough so could have a full breakfast and still get off the ship early enough to make an 8:30 a.m. excursion?
bluegirlum Posted January 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2010 According to my compasses from my 4 night cruise a few weeks ago, the MDR opens for breakfast at 7:30. So probably not enough time for you. The WJ opens for "Early Bird Coffee" from 6-7, then full buffet at 7. "Continental Breakfast" is available in your cabin at 7. Have a great time! cb at sea Posted January 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2010 If it opens at 7:30, you should have plenty of time....breakfast can go as fast as you need it to, even in the MDR! Much nicer than the WJ!

Much nicer than the WJ! Still sounds like it can be a rush...It's not like they have an hour in the MDR. If I had an excursion that started at 8:30, I'd probably start heading for deck 1 around 8am. You never know if there'll be a backlog of people, and it's a good 10 minute walk down those long piers. Door to door could take 15-20 minutes. kyriecat Posted January 3, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2010 I've never had breakfast in the MDR take less than 45 minutes, even when I told the waiters that I was in a hurry. I don't think I would try dining in the MDR unless my excursion didn't start until after 9 AM. If it's a ship excursion, you are supposed to meet at least 15 minutes before the start of the excursion. If it's a private one, you will need to leave time to disembark and get to your meeting destination onshore.
girlguide Posted January 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2010 We do room service if we need to be off for an early excursion. You can get coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit & danish. We order the night before & it arrives at the appointed time. We usually have a balcony to enjoy breakfast!;) Much easier than trying to navigate through the Windjammer or waiting for the MDR.
