Anyone use Dollar car rental in Tampa?

We have reservations with Dollar in Tampa. Any one have experience with them and their shuttles back and forth from the airport to the pier? Thanks

Used Dollar from the airport in November, as easy as is possible, literally steps form the luggage carousel...no knowledge of shuttle to/from port tho

Thanks for the reply. So they are right in the airport, that will be nice. They say they shuttle to and from the port, so I guess we'll give it a try.

We had a confirmed reservation with Dollar at the LAX airport location. No one at the airport desk, but a shuttle came and picked us up after a half hour wait. Then we and several others ( who had pre paid through a travel agent, expedia etc.) were told there weren't any cars and there probably wouldn't be any the next day either. They offered us a bus ride to our hotel...driver insisted he was dropping us off at the Century City Westin...but it wasn't...it was the Airport Westin...against my protest we were put out there and had to take a taxi to the right hotel.

Dollar had promised to call us with a rental car for the next day but never did.

We no longer deal with them. A reservation and pre payment means nothing now a days.

We have the reservation, no prepayment, so will be safe that way. There is a shuttle to the motel if Dollar doesn't come thru. And there are always taxis to the pier. The other rentals all seem much higher. Just thinking it would be nice to have a van to do some last minute shopping. Thanks for the reply.

Hi..Just wanted to let you know that Dollar worked out great. Arrived at the airport, claimed baggage, rental counter right there, up the escalator and into the car. Back the next day, shuttle within 15 mins took us to the pier. When we returned, shuttle at the pier again in about 15 mins, back to the airport and picked up a car. When we dropped it off, right in, a bit of a longer walk into the airport. Great rates, clean car and shuttle service to and from the pier!

Just an added note....when we returned the car, they didn't check it in correctly. A few phone calls and it was cleared up. Could happen anywhere I guess, but be sure to check your return receipt for the correct information.
