Check rates for OBC- please help

I have been regualrly checking my rates for my Mar 22 cruise on Destiny so I can get some more OBC.

We are booked in a 4F. Previously I would select the cruise and select 4F as the cabin class, look at rates.

Well as of the other day the option to select the 4F is gone, or I can no longer find it.

I only have the options of ST, BL, OV or IS. How do i find my specific 4F so I can look for OBC?

Thanks!!

I see 4F's listed for funSelect and the two Promo rates.

The Early Saver booking rate itself goes away 3 months prior to sailaway for shorter cruises, and 5 months prior to sailaway for longer cruises.

From the moment you book, you should not only be tracking the Early Saver fare, but any of the Promo rates (55+ and Past Guest and Military) that you're eligible for, and you should be tracking the your state Residency Rate. If you're a Past Guest and the Past Guest Rate drops below your current rate, you're eligible for the price drop; similar for 55+ and Military. If the Residency rate for your state drops, you're eligible for that rate.

I see a Past guest Rate of $494 for a 4F. If you're a Past Guest and your ES Rate is more than $494, you should be able to get the price difference and a 4G if you ask for it.

I also see that they're offering upgrades with bookings Past Guest and Senior. If you're eligible for those rates, and the rates are below your ES rate, you can get the OBC and should be able to get the upgrade.

Thank you. I am not a senior, not a past guest. Our ES rate was $454pp- and I have found one price drop to $444 and received the OBC.

How are you able to find the 4F rate, when I look i can only find the IS pricing.

If you are logged into Carnival.com when you search sometimes it does not show all available stuff. You may want to sign out and redo your search.

Hmmmmm.

Just to be safe: Log-in using both your e-mail -AND- your Password. then Logout. Once booked on a cruise, I've been accessing the site logg-ed out.

The particular path I took was to click on Carnival Ships | Destiny | Itinerary, then the 22 March 2010 Itinerary, which I think takes you to the Fares page for that cruise/date, which shows FunSelect, FunSaver, Past Guest and Senior Rates lines..

You can also use the Quick Search on the Home Page, entering your Cruise Paramerters (and also enter your state under the specials).

Ken, we are booked on Glory (Feb. 2011) and I did everything you wrote. We are past guest, my DH is 60 (Senior Rates) but the prices are shown are only Early Saver etc. but no Past Guest rate and no Senior Rate. Does this mean, that there are no Senior and Past Guest rates? Thank you very much.

Be sure you checked both those boxes on the advanced search or they dont show up.

Too early for any of the Promo rates!!!! Maybe 3-9 Months or so from sail date. The Promo rates aren't always available on any of the cruises, only at certain timeframes, probabvly chosen to boost lagging bookings. Our Feb 2011 Freedom actually went up $40pp for Inside Cabin since booking several months ago.

With the "new" web page you shouldn't have to do anything special to check rates once you're booked, but I still completely log out and actually stay that way, and check rates daily.

Thank you! That's good. I booked with carnvial and they didn't say anything about past guest rates and senior rates either. So I go on checking. Perhaps it gets more interesting from summer time on. But the price dropped for 10 $ End of December. So I that let's book it. Now I have a year of planning ahead.

Have a wonderful day.

Ken - Thanks for the info. I've been looking at rates for my March cruise while logged in and didn't see a price difference. I just did the stuff above and discovered that balconies now have a past guest rate. We should be able to get $180 OBC. Yay, tips are now paid for! :D

Way to Go!!!!!

There have been past issues with viewing Promo rates once you've booked a cruise!

In the end, my PVP made kind of a big deal that it was close to the cancellation date blah blah blah and put me on hold. She came back and said "OK, we're crediting your card."

Fine with me, that's tips, 4 drinks and 4 casino chips for DH...

Wow. Because I booked Early Saver for my summer cruise, I didn't realize that once final payment has been made, if you book Fun saver or past Guest, they really don't have to give you anything. I think they will upgrade you if the price drops enough.

Guess I lucked out with my credit today.
