avalon1025 Posted January 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2010 We are traveling with a nice sized group of friends on that sailing! Dress code on SS tends to lean to the more formal with nights broken into suit/tux, jacket and shirt with collar. Should be a great trip!

travelman1 Posted January 14, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted January 14, 2010 We are there too...glad to answer any questions! You will be very happy! Hi Thanks for that its our first time so do not really know what to expect, but loking forward to it. Hope it is not going to be all formal as we like a bit of relaxing to. What is the food like on board have read a few things and it seems to be ok with some people saying good others not so keen. Is it easy to meet new friends etc. One thing we have found was that when we booked the cruise we like the idea of boarding early but we have now been told that we can not board till after 2pm. Can you get on board earlier as the travel agent said we could confused here. Also when we booked you could pay a supplement to stay on board when we dock in Barbados I hope that still stands as the agenst said we have to book this when we board, as our flight does not take off till 5.30pm. Do you know if this is still happeneing as we have email Silverseas and not had a reply and after the confusion of booking the earlie boarding and then 2 months later Silversea saying it is not avaible now, but the travel agent say it is as she has been in contact with Silversea agent. Looking forward to haveing a great time and some warm weather. Staying in Orlando for 5 days before so that should be fun. Look forward to hearing back from you Cheers

duct tape Posted January 14, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2010 SS recently changed the early boarding/late disembarkation policy. It will not be available any more but I have been told that all folks will be able to board earlier than 3 PM. May find out more next week on the Cloud. I will be posting from there. There are formal nights but just a few. Onboard mostly everyone is very friedly and you will meet as manypeople as you want to! See you there! Cheaper than paying to stay on board too!
