goinmobile68 Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We're planning our shore excursions for our Alaska cruisetour in June. Being new to this type of cruising & new to Alaska, we would like to book at least one excursion through RCCL. We've read the disclaimers & FAQ's & it seems to be pretty clear, but I'm curious if anyone out there has had an experience with an excursion being cancelled due to weather or changes in ports? Are refunds made (looks like this one is yes) and how/when. Also, if you book ahead of time, is your credit card charged at the time of booking? (this one wasn't so clear!) Thanks for any info that you can provide!
emilygrace Posted January 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Yes, your credit card is charged at the time of booking, but if you cancel or the cruise line cancels the excursion you will get all your $$$ back on that credit card. We have never had any of our excursions for our Alaska cruises cancelled, but maybe other people here have had experience with this. Of course, we've never missed a port, either. cb at sea Posted January 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2010 ANYTHING you book before you board will be charged when you book it...excursions, dinner reservations...anything! If the ship cancels something, the cost will be refunded. If you cancel it, as long as you follow the cancellation guidelines, they'll refund that, as well.
