racegirl-24 Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Does anything look out of whack? DID I FORGET ANYTHING? casino = 1000 (500 p/p) excursions = 700 (on our own beach getaways + 1 scuba dive) booze = 250 (bucket 'o beers, drink of the day) chef table = 150 (I know we may not get it) spa = 150 corkage fee = 105 (15x7nights) specialty rest. = 50 formal night pic. = 25 coffee card = 25 soda card = 25 xtra tips = 100 bingo card = 30 auto tip = 150 souvenirs = 100 We plan on bringing on our own wine at each port. One bottle per person I think is allowed.

Katie333 Posted January 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2010 I believe that comes to $2800, ouchie! I'm sure you have captured every eventuality. People spend differently, on the same thing, 7 day cruise with 5 ports, we will probably spend less than $1000 for the two of us, including our onboard account. Toto2Kansas Posted January 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2010 You are a few dollars off here and there, but it looks about right. Soda card is not $25, but a little bit more than that with the 15% gratuity they add on to it.
Rare Tak8 Posted January 16, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Looks about right. Sometimes those on your own excursions can add up. It depends on what you do at the beach (food, snorkel, etc.)

Shoalwater Posted January 16, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 16, 2010 There is really no limit on wine being brought aboard at ports so long as its reasonable, so you can go for more than 1 bottle. On our Christmas cruise (Grand Princess) I was charged for only 1 corkage fee out of several bottles brought to the dining room over the 14 days of the trip. I get the impression its really enforced by the table waiter, and a=fter presenting both the waiter and her assistant with gift cards on Christmas day (4 days into the trip) i never had a corkage fee appear. Might have to try that with St. Patty's Day gift cards! :=)
B8C Posted January 16, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Unless these are included in the extra tips total, I would add another $25 - 30 in small bills for possible tips - luggage porter, room service, and transfer/shuttle/taxi. Looks like you have everything else. Enjoy your cruise.
racegirl-24 Posted January 16, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted January 16, 2010 "Autotip amount is for 2 people." Forgot to double that. "Have fun on your cruise. racegirl-24 Posted January 16, 2010 Author #13 Share Posted January 16, 2010 "Sometimes those on your own excursions can add up." Starting my research now on the ports board. So that was kind of a guess. Would love to do a 14 nighter but that would be so expensive, don't know how some of you do 3 or 4 cruises a year! Yes we also don't plan on spending too much money on holiday. I'm sure that a cruise is a holiday where you can keep a tight rein on money if needed with the odd treat or two along the way. Just being on a cruise will be amazing enough, we won't be going for so many extras!

singwithjoy Posted January 17, 2010 #19 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Save money on the bottle of wine. Use half at dinner one night. Ask them to save the other half. Use it the next night at dinner. I think you choice of spending money is way too much. There is so much to do that is included in your fare. THe pictures are fun to take. They look so good you might spend a fortune on pictures. So take a lot with your own camera. Say no and pass up the photographers and save money. Maybe do one set of professional pictures. Either formal or the casual ones are fun also!
