Passport Renewal Question

For anyone that has had to renew their passport... do you remember if the number on your new passport was the same as the number on the old passport?

 

I have to send our passport info off to the tour operator in St. Petersburg. My husband has sent in the paperwork for his renewal, but they are estimating a 4-6 week turnaround. If the passport numbers will be the same, I'll send it to her now, otherwise I'll just have to wait.

We did NOT get the same passport number when we renewed.

The numbers are different...but some good news: the turn-around is likely to be much shorter than what they claim, more like 2-3 weeks.

Different number.

I received my renewal in exactly 2 weeks after mailing via snail mail over the holidays.
