Carnival Dream Casino Slot Question

afcruiser

Recommended Posts

Sailing on the Dream with a group cruise.

We will be participating in a group slot pull tournament. The idea is that each participant puts $20.00 or a specified amount into the machine and play max bet. Then the next person does the same. Cash out at the end and hopefully split a huge jackpot. :p

I've been reading about how you have to use your S&S card. Can you still put bills into the machine? I'm confused.

Our local Casino's have all gone to paper. Bill's or ticket in and ticket out. I like it.

Thanks, in advance, for any input.

Mary

I've read a few posts where they say you have to put in your S&S card.

Just wondered how that would work if we have 40 people putting money in the slot machine. I'll let them use my S&S, as long as they don't charge on it.

Carnival keeping track of how much money you spend and win. Future cruise perks??

Thanks

Mary

NO!!!!!

Do not ever let anyone use your S&S card for any reason, especially for gambling. You are legally responsible for anything charged on that card, and it is possible to add money from your regular ship account to your "slot bank" up to $1500 per cruise. No signature is required - it works with a PIN just like a bank debit card. As you would never give anyone your ATM PIN number, so do not give them your slot bank PIN number.

Besides, I believe you may only have one "slot bank" on each S&S card.

The only way I can think of to manage would be for you to keep a manual record of how everyone is doing. This means you need to get their slot balance, which they can display for you, before and after they play their round. A lot of work.

Shalom, Andy.

I have only sailed on RCI but I'm sure the S & S card works the same way. In order to get cash on the S & S card, you have to go to the cashier and sign for the money. Cash is not automatically added to the card when you put it in the slot machine -- all it does is add up your credits which you can exchange for gifts or cash at the end of the cruise -- the same as a rewards card at a land casino.

I would never give anyone my S&S card.

But I'm still confused. Do you have to put in your card? Or can you just put money in and gamble? Casino's have changed so much and I don't go very often. I was wondering specifically about the Dream. Since it's so new.

It is on the sign and sail card with the balance staying on the card. No tickets spit out.

So you do not get a paper ticket either?

Still wondering how this slot pull tourny is going to work. My son turns 18, 2 days prior to departure. He's looking forward to this slot tournement. As I am.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry I still have question's.:D

Hi Mary,

I hope I can clear up the confusion for you.

1.There are no paper tickets at all.

2..No coin payoff either (no buckets to carry around).

3.You must have the S&S card in the machine while you play. I suggest you attach a lanyard to the card and keep it around your neck while at the machine. This is so you won't forget and leave it in the machine at the end of your session.

4.The first time you play, you must set up a "skit bank". At this time, you choose a PIN. Casino staff are happy to help you get ging.

5.You add funds to your bank in either of two ways:

a. Insert bills into the machine

b. Move funds (electronically) from your shipboard account to the slot bank.

6.When you "cash out" from the machine, your winnings/losings are posted to the slot bank.

7.On or before the last night of the cruise, you MUST go to the cashier's cage and close your slot bank account. I know you can get cash at this time, but I believe you can also have it credited to your regular shipboard account.

Hope this helps.

Shalom from Tel Aviv. Andy.

Andy,

Thanks for clearing up my confusion.

Since we will be participating in a group slot pull with 50 + people. The casino would probably set us up with a separate card. Just in case we win big. Then the winnings will be split amongst the players at the end.:p

Again Thanks

Mary

Andy is wrong on this one. Slot tournaments are a buy in game. You sign up and pay the $20, wait for your time to play and you play. There are usualy a bank of machines set up for these games and you are called when it is your turn. The machines are programmed before the game to be on "free Play" they will play without cash or any type of money being put into the machine. You start with zero and the player with the most money on the machine at the end of the play wins. Your $20 pays for the tournament through the end.

Have done a group slot pull twice for my roll call on two Princess. Carnival slots work the same way. My advise:

1. Have everyone put their money in the machine and load it up before anyone does a single pull. That way, no one can say it was "THEIR" money that hit the big one.

2. Our by in was $21 each and each person got 7 spins on a $1 - 3coin max bet machine - like wheel of fortune.

3. I made up a spread sheet with names, 7 spaces for amount each spin and total for each person. Track who pays in and each win for each person. You may want to give the person with the highest single win whatever cannot be divided by the # of players.

5. Make sure your sign and sail card has no casino credits on it. So that when you cash out to your card, it's all the groups money to be divided.

6. My group decided that my card should be in while were were playing so I could get the points as a perk of managing everything.

7. If there is a big win that requires a 1099 (anything over $1199) tell the cage it's to be divided x # of ways. that way it's not necessary to declare winnings unless each INDIVIDUAL is getting over $1199.

8. While the casino will likely not care what your doing, it would be a good idea to let the casino manager know what your doing and when and to get their ok.

HAVE FUN AND WIN BIG (LOL)

Couple of corrections...

3. You do not have to have your S&S card in the machine when you play if you are playing straight cash. But if you have winnings and want to stop playing you either have to call a Casino manager or insert your S&S to deposit the winnings to the bank.

7. When you cash out your slot bank, the casio cage pays you straight cash. they will not credit it to your S&S account. You have to take the cash to the Guest Services desk to do that.
