ericrz Posted February 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Hi-- I think I know the answer to this question (unfortunately!) but I'll ask anyway. We're booked ES on the Carnival Legend leaving 14 March. Our particular stateroom category (8H) has been sold out and unavailable on Carnival's website for quite some time now. This means we're out of luck as far as any price protection / OBC under the Early Saver program, correct? Even if a HIGHER stateroom category is available for a LOWER price than we paid for our 8H cabins, we are not eligible because the category has to exactly match for an early saver OBC. Do I have this right? Just want to make sure I can quit watching the sale prices!
firefly333 Posted February 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2010 If you price match to a higher category, even a suite, you can move to that category and then put in if its at a lower price.
mom2isabella05cole08 Posted February 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2010 From my understanding yes, because it's sold out. But, from what I've read on here, you may be able to call and upgrade to the higher category.
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted February 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2010 We are also booked on ES rate. Just last week we were able to move to a higher level because there was a past guest upgrade. Keep your eye open you just never know. You can upgrade if the higher cat price comes down to what you paid.
ericrz Posted February 4, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted February 4, 2010 Thanks all. Don't particularly want to upgrade, as we have a group with three adjacent balcony staterooms plus an interior across the hall. So moving cabins around is probably a giant headache at this point. Was hoping to get OBC, but sounds like that isn't going to happen here. I submitted the ES form to Carnival, but won't be surprised if it's rejected. Thanks again.
