royalcruz Posted February 12, 2010 #51 Share Posted February 12, 2010 I bought my last few gowns on clearance at Neiman Marcus and Saks. I also just bought a cocktail dress on Ruelala.com.
1 Part Sand 1 Part Sea Posted February 12, 2010 #52 Share Posted February 12, 2010 My evening gowns are tired and I want to get a few new ones. Just recently moved to St. Louis, and I don't know where to begin looking. Where do you shop for yours? dont know if this has been mentioned yet, havent read the whole thread: I ALWAYS shop at a store called Deb. Its more like a juniors store, but being 25 they still work for me. In thier sale section you can get gorgeous fun formal dresses for WAY cheap! I got my last few for like $9, $16, etc! I never break $20! here is the store locator: http://www.debshops.com/storeLocator/
FliLady Posted February 15, 2010 Author #53 Share Posted February 15, 2010 I have always shopped at DEB. But this year the selection seems to be very "Prom" and not many evening gowns.
Host Faith Posted February 15, 2010 #54 Share Posted February 15, 2010 I love Spiegel, Newport News, and Nordstrom (great for plus sizes). Don't forget to check out Ebay. Surprisingly, I got this cocktail dress on Ebay for $9 . Size 12. :D
Gingee Posted February 16, 2010 #55 Share Posted February 16, 2010 St. Louis? How about the outlet mall at St. Charles? I have gone on Coldwater Creek outlet and they sometimes have good deals.
momofmeg Posted February 16, 2010 #56 Share Posted February 16, 2010 I usually find my stuff at Dillards. A couple of times I have found nice dresses/formal tops at Ross. Back in the fall, I bought a formal top at Ross for $30. The same exact top was at Dillards for $90. Last week I saw it on clearance at Dillards for $27.99, but I have mine for 4 months. Dillards has a huge dress dept, and lots of gowns and cocktail dresses in juniors too (with really low backs that I can't wear). They used to have more selections in petite too but they are scarce these days.
FritzG Posted February 23, 2010 #58 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I've found some terrific buys at a couple of Dillard's stores in the past few days. There were formal tops for $15, and I got a Cachet formal marked down from $200 to $54! The Nordstrom's I went to had very little on sale.
Harley Granny Posted February 24, 2010 #59 Share Posted February 24, 2010 Believe it or not...try Sears. They had some really nice dresses here in Orlando. I'm a thrift store shopper so I checked them 1st. Got a great dress at Goodwill for $11 and a black cocktail dress at Ross for $20.
