Stars at night

My husband would like to know if we can see the stars at night when we are at sea weather permitting of course. Would the lights of the ship obscure the view? Where on the ship would be the best place to see the stars? We have a mini-suite aft and were hoping that we could possibly see the night sky there.

We were on a HAL ship last year and they had an evening where one of the navigational crew came out and explained all of the star formations to us. It was really fun, but rather cloudy that evening. They turned off most of the deck lights to help with star gazing.

Unfortunately the ships lights do make star gazing somewhat difficult, but it is still beautiful out at sea in the evenings looking at the stars!
