BucketlistJoes Posted February 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2010 My husband would like to know if we can see the stars at night when we are at sea weather permitting of course. Would the lights of the ship obscure the view? Where on the ship would be the best place to see the stars? We have a mini-suite aft and were hoping that we could possibly see the night sky there. forwardcabin Posted February 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2010 ... We have a mini-suite aft and were hoping that we could possibly see the night sky there. You might indeed. Depending on the ship, there may be some unlit outside places forward as well. Good Luck. Bon Voyage!
cb at sea Posted February 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2010 We've always had quite a few clouds..you can see stars, but we've never had that brilliantly clear night I keep hoping for! The ship's lights can be evaded enough to see.
arlodog Posted February 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2010 We were on a HAL ship last year and they had an evening where one of the navigational crew came out and explained all of the star formations to us. It was really fun, but rather cloudy that evening. They turned off most of the deck lights to help with star gazing. Unfortunately the ships lights do make star gazing somewhat difficult, but it is still beautiful out at sea in the evenings looking at the stars! MiamiSpartan Posted February 6, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Go towards the front of the ship...the lights are usually not as bright there...
