Carnival Valor MDR with Toddler Question

We are on the Valor next week (yeah :) and have sailed with Carnival previously, but this time we have a 2 year old. She is fine eating out since we do about 2-3 times per week. But it really helpful to have some food soon after we sit. Can we ask the waiter to bring some food out as soon as we get there? I am also planning on bringing some distraction to the table as well (crayons etc.) but was wondering if anyone had experience with something like this. Thanks!

sure--on the 1st night, tell them what you'd like, and it will be there everynight from then on....

They bring rolls right away, so there will be something to munch on. Also, if you tell them you want milk every night, it will be there. Likewise, if you want a fruit plate to start, that will be there too.

 

The wait staff, and almost all the CCL employees really love the kids because they are missing theirs from home.

 

Also, color wonder pads and pens each night make a great distraction.

We've been on nine Carnival cruises with are now three year old, but never on Valor. However, every wait staff we've had, brought our son's dinner while we were having our first course. They've always gone above and beyond with bringing us anything we asked for. My only word of caution is that sometimes they serve cookies on the plate with the kids entree. So, if you don't want it served that way, just let them know. If you have late or Your Time, Camp Carnival is open so mom and dad can have an adult dinner.
