ENZO VISONE THE new Executive Chairman of Silversea Board

The name rings a bell, but l just can't put my finger on it.

SILVERSEA HAS APPOINTED ENZO VISONE AS THE

new executive chairman of the board of

Silversea Cruises.

“We are pleased to welcome Enzo to this

position,” said Silversea’s deputy board

chairman, Manfredi Lefebvre.

Viscone comes to the position with over

twenty years of ‘hands on’ management

experience, having most recently served as chief

executive officer for an asset management

company, based in Milan, Italy.

In his new role Viscone will work closely with

Silversea president Amerigo Perasso and the

team to promote growth and shore up

Silversea’s foothold in the luxury cruise sector.

It sounds like his background is all about "money management". Does he know anything about and/or care/understand about the hospitality business where CUSTOMER SERVICE is so vital? Part of what got General Motors in trouble was having Harvard MBA's whose experience was narrowly in finance trying to run a car company. Customers care about the "product" and the quality/value for what they are actually getting. Does this guy understand about this unique Silversea product and how upscale customers can sense quickly if the quality is being trimmed or compromised?

Enzo Visone was born in London (UK) on 3rd November 1955. He has a degree in Economics. After several years experience in multinational companies in the US, Europe and the Middle East, he joined the (Compari) Group in 1987, occupying various positions in the international area in Belgium, France and Spain. In 1996, he was appointed General Manager of Campari International S.A.M. In 2001 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer International. In May 2004 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.

(Mr. Visone stepped down as CEO of Compari in 2007)
