mymichelle1 Posted January 20, 2013 #126 Share Posted January 20, 2013 How many points did you have at the end of your cruise? One of my family members had 6000 on a 4 day cruise on the inspiration. Hit every dollar machine in the casino. I cruised the Magic 7 days in April 2012 had 4700 pts free drinks at 1500 I cruised the Troumph 5 days in Septmber I had 2300 they don't have the drink program so no free drinks, the Casino Host did come up a few times and give my hubby and I a few free drinks. I never get any mail/email/call offers............Don't understand.....
Tetromibi Posted January 20, 2013 #127 Share Posted January 20, 2013 I got the mailer Friday with $300 and 25% discount on select cruises. The only time I've gambled was my last cruise, and I think I was just over 5000 points for the cruise.
aggieastrosfan Posted January 23, 2013 #128 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Forgive me if this is a dumb question... I called the number on the OPC website, and only got two options. I'm assuming I'm supposed to ask for help with an existing booking? Trying to find out if I'm eligible for anything on my next cruise in March. aggieastrosfan Posted January 23, 2013 #129 Share Posted January 23, 2013 After waiting for almost 30 minutes, I finally talked to Michael. My 3k or so points from the Magic last July are getting me a $25 casino credit on the Triumph in March. Not much compared to some of you folks, but it's free money, I'll gladly take it! If I had had the ability to get rated on the tables, I'd probably be getting a lot more. :o Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Tetromibi Posted January 23, 2013 #130 Share Posted January 23, 2013 I called yesterday and talked to Michael. Close to 5k points on last cruise, qualified for $75 on upcoming cruise. He said to call back after this one to see what I qualify for on my October cruise.
sailor_jimc Posted January 25, 2013 #131 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Michael seems to be the only one left to talk to, the poor guy is over worked! It took me a week of trying a couple times a day before I got through to him. If you don't know his extension number you get tossed into the pool of other phone callers which ends up in a reservations agents group (I think). I was impressed with what I got comp'ed Far more than normal but on my last cruise (Thanksgiving week of 2012) I saw something new in the casino. The table games actually tracked your play. When you sat down and bought in the pit boss would write down your spend on a clip board. When you walked away with money they would write that down too. Since I play mostly table games they never came close to knowing how much I spent unless I won big. So in the past it was $50 to $100 in casino cash or a fruit basket, but when I talked to Michael for my cruise in a couple of weeks, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of comps he offered. So, there is hope. If all the ships are using this new tracking system, maybe we will start getting more accurate comps to match our true level of play. Good luck all! samiam0403 Posted January 26, 2013 #132 Share Posted January 26, 2013 How many points did you have at the end of your cruise? One of my family members had 6000 on a 4 day cruise on the inspiration. Hit every dollar machine in the casino. I just cruised on a quickie 3 day cruise on the Inspiration in December for Carnival cruise #17. 9000 plus points. Got a bottle of wine from the casino host and nothing that was promised from the players club. Got the mailer a few days ago for the 'premier casino cruises' with the 25% off 6 specific cruises and $400 casino cash. Way too little, way too late. I'm booking my 40th birthday cruise soon with NCL - better casino benefits, cheaper cruises, and am already looking at $500+ OBC for the 10 day cruise I'm booking. Once Ocean Players Club became Carnival Players Club, the good offers disappeared. I went from 'free 7 night cruise in a suite' offers to $100 casino cash and some other stuff that I never did get. Ah well. Time to move on and see what else is out there.
huntm Posted January 30, 2013 #133 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I don't understand the players club either. My husband and I are both casino players. Sometimes we win big... Sometimes HE loses big :) The last 2 cruises we have been on he had a free drinks on us card by the first night. The casino always sends us stuff to our room during the cruise. However, everytime we call and ask if we qualify for anything we are told no. He even got an offer for $700 cash and 25% off a premier cruise that we were unable to go on. When I called and asked if he qualified for even a fruit basket on our upcoming cruise (3rd one this year) they said no. Lol Oh well, I know we will be taken care of once we get on board :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
linnythepooh Posted October 23, 2013 #134 Share Posted October 23, 2013 Call the Ocean Player's Club (1-866-299-5859) and explain to them about your upcoming cruise. I got the certificate 3 weeks before my cruise and they are honoring the casinocash.[/QI I really needed this number! My last cruise, in July aboard the Dream, was a very nice b'day present from Mom and Dad. It was a Premier cruise, and while she was given a free cruise from them and Dad went as her guest, they paid for my trip. So that meant I had some extra money to gamble with (LOL)! Played slots, mostly after dinner and managed to hit something every little bit to keep me playing for a while at night. Wound up a little down for the week, but racked up over 9,000 points also. I was given the letter on the last night for the discount cruise/cash. I also received in the mail the offer for a free cruise and a nice cash back sum - Unfortunately, the offer expired two weeks before my upcoming cruise and I couldn't take off work before then to utilize the offer! Anyway, I emailed Michael to see if I qualified for anything for my upcoming trip. He emailed me back and asked for the booking number from my July trip. He then emailed me and told me I would have $75 waiting at the casino cage, nothing else was mentioned. So - long-winded story - sorry! - I see that some have had success with contacting the Player's Club again to question what the have qualified for. Should I chance it and see if I at least qualify for the drinks on us card from the start as well or be happy with the offer of $75. I appreciate any responses. Thank you! When emailing Michael I would ask him specifically for what you want. All he can do is say no. On my last and upcoming cruise I asked him for Drinks on Us cards" He gave them to us both times. We still received some cash and other stuff, but we really just wanted the cards. What's nice about getting the cards right away is that the casino host comes out to give them to you. This is a good time to befriend him or her as they control the rest of the perks. (Steak House, wine, etc..)

johnny75 Posted November 23, 2013 #139 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I am almost done with the CPC. No one answers the phone. When someone does, they make you beg for a comp ! Too many cutbacks , premium von boyage packages are no longer offered. My wife and I did over 12000 points on our last cruise. CPC offered $150 cash---nothing else. Comps on board are non existent. Got a bottle of wine on the last day, served after my dinner was over! Going to try NCL or Celebrity . We have been told they will comp our fare and add comps during the cruise. Give NCL a try - I did, and they'll now get my casino play money. My first NCL cruise earlier this year I earned ~4300 points - got comped dinner for 2 and wine at a specialty restaurant, more wine sent to the cabin, money taken off the final sign and sail bill and best of all, my upcoming cruise was comped (OV comp, I paid to upgrade to a suite). I had more than double those points on a 3-night CCL cruise a few months prior and got a bottle of wine. I'll still sail Carnival when/if I get a great bargain, but they're getting a lot less of my disposable income from now on. clcjdn Posted November 23, 2013 #141 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Now that I have been on both NCL and Carnival I understand the difference in points. On Carnival $2.50 in slots or $5.00 in video poker per point. On NCL $5.00 in slots or $10.00 in video poker per point. On my recent trip I made "hot" and got dinner/wine comped one night. I plan to play the offers in the next year to see the better comp play.

totalee Posted May 20, 2014 #145 Share Posted May 20, 2014 I took a carnival cruise 2 years ago and won $1000 on a slot machine, this year they sent me a free cruise. I took that in May on the Pride and wound up getting 7000 points in the casino. I received a free drink card the first night of the cruise, chocolate strawberries in my room 2 nights, a bottle of wine at dinner on night and a free cruise certificate from the host on the last night of the cruise. Unfortunately I gave back almost all my winnings from my previous cruise on that trip. the Free cruises only charged port fees which are less than $100. I took a transatlantic on NCL last year I received a discount from Ceasar's and a bottle of wine and a free drink card when checked into my room. I had an outstanding bar server in the casino (on the Epic) if I even walked through the casino I had a drink in my hand before I walked from one side of the casino to the other. I few months later I received a free cruise certificate from Ceasar's and took a cruise on the Pearl. I received the free drink card the first day. NCL adds a NCF fee of $150-200 to its free cruise plus port taxes and their Free cruise winds up costing about $400. I moved to "hot" red car status on that cruise, but the drink service was not very good. When I was finally able to speak to the casino host on the last night of the cruise she was apologetic that she hadn't talked to me and discounted my cruise bill by $100. but that was all she did I was disappointed. I received another free cruise certicate from Ceasar's for an NCL cruise but the dates and ship's offered were extremely limited and they still want to charge that bogus NCF fee (which I think is the casino room rate). So I will probably stick with Carnival for a while.
terbear_4u Posted May 21, 2014 #146 Share Posted May 21, 2014 I was on the NCL Getaway Last week. And to my surprise the only Black Jack Table with a dealer Shoe and Hand Shuffle was at a $50 minimum table. I was told by the Casino Manager that This $50 Shoe table and higher was a corporate decision on all NCL ships. The Epic last february had $25 and above Tables with A dealer shoe and hand shuffle. I was on the Breakaway Last August and the $25 and above Had the dealer Shoe with hand shuffle. All other tables on these 3 ships had those Continious Shuffle Machines which I contend give a unfair House advantage. It seems to me that the Casinos profit More from these Continious Shuffle Machines And the players lose more. ( As a general experience and observation ) In reality you could get the same first 2 cards as the last hand, as all cards are reinserted into the automatic continious shuffle machine before another hand is dealt. Does anyone know if the Breakaway and Epic still have the Dealer shoe and Hand shuffle on $25 tables as of resent ???

Does anyone know if the Breakaway and Epic still have the Dealer shoe and Hand shuffle on $25 tables as of resent ??? Actually a CSM gives the basic strategy players slightly more of an advantage than a shoe game. Where they get you is because they deal 20% more hands an hour over a shoe game, therefore they grind you down faster. Here is more information http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/appendix/10/ As far as getting the same first two cards it really shouldn't make any difference, they could be two tens or an ace and a ten or two sixes. My point is you have just as much chance of those cards being a blackjack as a stiff hand. What is good about a CSM for a basic strategy player is every hand is just like the first hand after a shuffle. I personally prefer a double deck game because you don't get all of those crazy hands you see on six and eight deck games. One month ago on The Legend I saw a player split eights and he wound up with four hands and then he drew eights to the first two hands. IOW he had six, eights in a row dealt to him. You don't see that crazy type of stuff on a double deck game. Edited May 21, 2014 by Tutontow
Kriskris70 Posted May 29, 2014 #149 Share Posted May 29, 2014 I was on the triumph in January 2011. I called the players club about six weeks before I went to see what they could do for me (I had been on the spirit twice in 2010) When I checked in I got free strawberries and the next day a fruit basket. I also got a bottle of wine the first night for dinner. and a coupon for a free photo too In addition they emailed me a coupon for $250 in casino chips to take with me. you cash it in when you get there and they somehow connect your room key to your players club account number for the rest of the trip. Last week in the mail came a coupon from Carnival's Player Club for $500 of cash if I want to go to a cruise out of New York this fall... at a balcony rate of less than $750. Too bad I live on the west coast or I would take advantage of it. so to answer your questions, yes, this was my third carnival cruise in less than 13 months and they did me well. But call ahead of time and give them your players number. as to the free beverages in the casino, they dont give those anymore even to player club members who play the max on the machines but if you make friends with the casino host on duty "that person" does have some discretion to buy you coffee or soda... but not booze but an even better deal came today from NCL via Harrah's. If you have a diamond account (or higher) with them they are giving away free balcony trips to the mediterrean this fall so I will probably do that trip this fall I cruised twice 2013 and April 2014 and received free drinks.
