HAL Personalized Stationary

I have noticed in the latest update of HAL's web site that they

no longer indicate an offering of personalized stationary in the

staterooms of their Penthouse or Deluxe Verandah passengers.

Is this another "perk" that they have cut back on?

Just wondering.

Cheers!

Personally, I have no problem if they want to save a few dollars (cents?) by cutting back on the stationery. The first time we got it, it was kind of a kick, but it just ended up in my photo album along with other cruise mementos, and I've wondered why HAL kept on giving it out. It is just one more thing the stewards have to worry about distributing on embarkation day.

We were in a superior suite last month, and we had personalized stationery then. Frankly, this is a perk I wouldn't really miss if it went away. Plain paper and envelopes work well enough for me....

I kind of agree! Probably nice for the "First Timer"; makes them feel

kind of "special" but would rather see HAL put their efforts into more

"appropriate" levels of service.

Looking forward to upcoming cruises and seeing old friends again!

Cheers!

We had the stationary as usual our cruises on Eurodam the last two weeks.

We used all of ours and requested more from the concierge and she ran off more sheets for us right away.

We appreciate having it to use for thank you notes and messages. Comes in handy.

Let me just pop in to corroborate. I absolutely do use the personalized stationery. It has been provided each time we have had a stateroom in which it was supposed to appear.

That part of the perk is certainly appreciated by many.

Most of my clientage use their own personalized stationary

and include a personal calling/business card and monetary

thoughfulness to attribute their thanks and appreciation for

services well rendered.

Cruise staff work very hard for everyone on-board and personalized

forms of appreciation are always appreciated...espcially by those

who will serve them again on future sailings.

It is in the description for the Superior Suite which is included in Deluxe and Penthouse Suites I Was just on Hal website

Found it!

Ahh, was just wondering! I was looking at the "R" Class ships...

primarily the Deluxe/Penthouse Suite discriptions on the Rotterdam and

did not find it listed...as I had in earlier HAL Web Postings and other

promotional materials that HAL sends out.

I know that things change rapidly in this day and age and always have

to have the most up-to-date info that I can possess.

I Thank You!

I see! Thank You!

I received hard copies of HAL's sailing schedule for the 2010

Alaska season back in Sept., 2009 and compared them with what

their Web site enumerated for the Deluxe/Penthouse /Suite offerings

at that time.

Now I notice that their Web site (as many do these days) has been

reorganized and repositioned to differ from what they initially indicated

as confirmed offerings.

Not complaining, by ANY means! a VERY confirmed HAL customer,

cruiser and recommender of HAL as the cruise line of choice both for

me personally and to my contacts who enjoy premium cruising.

I like to use this critique space as a sounding board because so many

of you are more expert in this field than I am and, if there is any big

difference of opinion...then I will contact HAL directly to settle the

difference. Just don't want to constantly bother HAL Customer Service

with questions that cannot be otherwise settled among professional

cruisers!

Your responses are VERY well received and appreciated!

Cheers!

Champagne was not listed on HAL's website for the SA cabins shortly before for our cruise last month on the Eurodam.

However, when we got into our cabin last month, a bottle was on a shelf with a note from the HM. There was also a tall glass bottle of water that we never opened.

We just returned from two weeks on Eurodam and both weeks we received Welcome Aboard Champagne from Captain and Hotel Manager..... same as always.

:) We are so "UnRoyal", the commoner letter paper provided by HAL for our use serves our purpose fine. We're (sadly ?) among those who try to limit how much 'stuff' we lug along with us on our cruises. ;)

We did use the stationery, and it's a nice touch, but, as I said, plain paper would serve just as well....

I didn't realize, however, that superior suites receive fresh flowers. There were no flowers in our cabin last cruise, but since I didn't know they were part of the "package", I never missed them.

That Voss water -- we have gotten it quite a few times -- Artisian well water -- we never drink it either.
