Carnival Triumph - check in times

For those who have recently cruised out of New Orleans............

 

Is 10:30 too early to arrive at pier? What time does check in begin?

Doors should be open for you to begin the checkin process. You may have to wait around for an hour or so before the actual boarding of the ship begins.

We checked in shorted after 10:30 am, but we didnt board until much closer to Noon the time we cruised, they were running late.

Parking will be easier for you if you do get there around 10:30...we parked right next to the luggage drop off, then after checking in without any waiting in lines...we did have to sit in the orange chairs to be called for boarding for about 40 minutes....but at least waiting there is not such a bad thing, after the hectic morning of getting to the pier on time, you can relax and know you did it and your vacation awaits! ;)

The time stamp on my ticket from the parking garage at the pier says 10:07. Paid the parking fee, up the ramp to the porters (who were great), parked on level four right by the elevators. Amazingly simple and convenient at that time of day. We were told that the ship was running late and wouldn't start boarding until around 1 p.m.. They started calling VIP and special needs at 11:30. We were in group two and aboard well before noon. Very good experience.
