I think it's nonsense.

I agree... if folks don't have time to type out full words, then perhaps they could wait, and reply when they DO have time.

Those witty abbreviations are merely confusion for folks here to sincerely ask a question.

Perhaps a forum could be started, for folks who love to abbreviate? *chuckle*

Go to http://www.freedictionary.com

After you read a few of the lastest additions you will love the simple DW (mine is BOTH Dear and Darling).

Maybe the poster meant http://www.thefreedictionary.com which shows this for the definition for DW:

DW

abbr.

1. dead weight

2. distilled water

How about this:

http://www.gaarde.org/Acronyms/?lookup=dh

DH

Deaf Hubby

Dear Hubby

Dear Husband

Dick Head

Dumb Hubby

So, when a woman spends time with her DH... it could be her Dear Husband... or her Dick Head? Oh my, rather unfortunate if he mis-translates her words. Another reason to use plain english.

I don't mind the abbreviations, but you are one funny lady! :D

I am not a fan of the abbreviations (I actually got a business email this week with abbreviations like this...), but there have been times when perhaps I would like my DH to mis-translate.....:)

Yep, yep, that pretty much runs the gamut of what the wife uses DH for.

Usually she concentrates on the last two, and only uses the highlighted two when she wants something.

On occasion she will use the first letter of the alphabet in front of H

I concentrate on the honor of being addressed as the first one.

How about the guy who texted a girl he really liked named Emmy.

He texted: MEURABUT

If you say the letters, it says, "Emmy, you are a beauty."

Unfortunately for him, she read it as, "Emmy, you are a butt."

His injuries from her were not life threatening -- He gets out the hospital next Tuesday.:p
