Dining on Millennium

We are booked on the Millennium and have questions about dining in the main dining room. We have not been on Celebrity for several years with most recent cruising on HAL and Princess. The dining on Celebrity is confusing so I would like some help from those who have experienced it recently.

Hi,:) what would you like to know? They still offer the traditional

dining where you eat at the same table each night at 6:00 or 8:30.

They have also implemented the new "Select Dining" which is when you

eat at whatever time you prefer.

There are two basic dining options at the MDR:

Traditional and Select Dining.

Traditional is probably what you used previously, Select dining began in 2009.

Traditional dining is at either Main Dining usually at 6:00pm and Late Dining at 8:30pm. You are assigned a set table and waitstaff. You can request table sizes from 2 to 4, 6, up to 10-12.

Select Dining (haven't used and someone else can expand and/or correct me) is an option where you may dine between 6pm to 9:30pm. You normally make reservations (either prior to boarding or while on board) and enjoy the flexibility of differing times. Celebrity 'strongly recommends' making reservations so you don't end up waiting, but it isn't required. You can set the same time each evening, or change as needed, and you can request the same waitstaff and they will attempt to meet your requests. Here is the Celebrity site giving more info:

Or use the Search: 'Select Dining'.

There have been good and bad reviews on Select Dining of how it is working.
