Booking Excursions online, Pay now or later?

I notice as you reserve an excursion online through the RCCL website, it requires a Credit Card. Does this mean they will charge you then, or will it be charged to your account on the ship once you go on the excursion? What happens if you need to cancel?

Are reservations at Chops treated the same?

Yes, you will be charged at the time you make the reservation. If you have to canel, you will be refunded. Same for Chops/Portofino.

If you need to cancel, you can...I think they need 24 hours if you want a refund. It will be refunded to your credit card, if you cancel before you sail. If you cancel on the ship, it goes to your onboard account.

Yes, I booked a shore excursion yesterday for my April cruise and it is already on my credit card.
