Travel to Rum Point

Does anyone know how much it costs to take a taxi to Rum Point. Ferry? There will be 3 of us. Any other suggestions for getting there? I don't want to do an excursion because this will be my 4th time there and I have always done the cruise excursions. Thanks for your help

It's far. Better to just rent a car.

A taxi would be about $80 US (or more for a larger group) each way. It's a 45 minute drive, and you'd need to prearrange the return trip as no taxis would be waiting in the area. You'd also need to allow plenty of time for the return trip, since you're on the far side of the island from the ship and you don't want to miss the last tender.

 

There are no buses that run to Rum Point.

 

A rental car is much, much cheaper, and allows you to ensure that your timing suits your needs (and the need to get back to the ship).

 

The only other option is to take an excursion (through the ship or booked privately) that includes Rum Point as one of the stops.

Rent a car and go to Rum Point Beach. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean! Very easy to drive there and back. Like the others said, only about 45 min to get there. You can rent ahead of time, or when you get off the ship, find a car rental then.

I concur. Rent a car. We use Budget. They will meet you at the hard Rock Cafe near the tender area and take you to their airport location.

I think RCI has an excursion that does swimming with the sting rays and then takes you to rum point. Is this worth it?
