We just got off the ship last week and had a great time

As for nightlife on princess ships (in general) it depends on who is on your ship. Alot of the nightlife seems to be around the casinos (late night) and less in the disco (skywalkers). There are plenty of shows etc at night but everything tends to die down around 11ish. But things tend to pick up during the day around 10am... so for us (21 and 27 yr old) it worked perfect to not miss out and also get some good sleep :) . Seeing as you will be during the spring break time there will be younger crowd then if you went during a non school holiday time. (so more potential for a nightlife)

As far as ports, we love renting scooters (mopeds) at the ports. It is relatively inexpensive (normally 50-75 $ a day) for a two person bike. And we just explore the island and stop at a beach etc if we feel like it. We have done the excursion thing alot and enjoy that as well but like the scooters to explore and if we are on more of a budget.

The trip we just got back from:

Princess Cays - stayed on board

St Maarten- took a cab from port to airport beach (sunset beach bar) and watched planes for a few hours (17$ there because only 2 of us and then 7$ pp on the way back cause we got in a van with more ppl)

St Thomas- rented a scooter drove around for 3 hrs and it was 60 or 65$

Grand Turk- rented a scooter drove around etc full day was 50$

you can message me if you want more details sorry if that was rambly.... :)

You should also go to the Princess Roll-Call section and join the roll-call for your cruise dates - there is usually a lot of great info there.;)

Depending on what interests you, St. Thomas & St. Maarten have wonderful beaches and shopping. Princess Cay is also a great beach day with snorkeling and other water activities along with a BBQ lunch.

The Emerald is one of our favorite ships and we are taking our 2nd cruise on her in October! Have a wonderful time & be sure to go to the Adagio Lounge (across from Sabbatini's) for stuffed olives - they are sooooo good!:D

Go to the different Port of Call for each port. There are great ideas for each port.

Go to Roll Call - Princess - Emerald - to see if anybody has started a Roll Call for your cruise. Sometimes people in your Roll Call have been to the port and can give you ideas or what they plan on doing.

Do a Search. There has a been a few reviews in the past few months.

We were on Emerald last November,

Bahamas: Stayed on the beach all day, had a BBQ lunch which was lovely, swam, snorkelled.

St Maaten: Hired a Harley for the afternoon and drove around the Island

St Thomas: Great Shopping and a short bus ride to Magens Bay

Grand Turk: Island Tour and Beach, great snorkelling

Have a great time

Congrats on your retirement, and thank you for your service! the roll call above has lots of ideas, and you might try the port of call section to see if you find some ideas.
