Worst Cruise Ever

Recommended Posts

Oh it was bad!

On our first stop in Curacao, we got off the ship and headed directly to the beach. As soon as we got there, there was a giant wave that completely soaked us all as we were just sitting in our lounge chairs. My camera, cell phone, books, etc. were all ruined. Then, I decided I wasn't going to let that ruin my cruise, but even after applying SPF 50 sunscreen every hour, I turned into a lobster and started blistering immediately. I was in so much pain, and I couldn't find any Aloe Vera anywhere. So I decide to go back to the ship. They actually had some, but it was $250 for 5 ounces!! I figured I'd just tough it out.

I went back to the cabin to get some money to go play in the casino because I figured that would make me feel better. I go to the safe, and all our money is gone! I call my boyfriend on my miraculously recovered cell phone since he is still on the beach. He tells me that he felt so bad because there was some guy in San Juan who got mugged and needed money to help his father who was also mugged and badly beaten and in the hospital. So he gave him all of our cash!

Then, as the ship is getting ready to leave Curacao, I notice my boyfriend and the rest of our group haven't checked in with me yet. I go outside on my balcony to see all of them running to catch the ship as it is pulling away. So now I'm all alone on this huge ship!

Then, thankfully, I woke up!

This is the 5th horrible dream I've had about things going terribly wrong on my upcoming cruise. Does this happen to anyone else?

I mostly have weird dreams about cruise travel right before leaving. Not so much the cruise, but travel to the airport, boarding and empty suitcases.

Most of them are pretty funny.

Tell your boyfriend not to give away any money (it's a scam), take a small bottle of aloe and sit in the shade. There is nothing you can do about the ocean waves.

My dream is I get on the ship and find I have to go behind a counter in one of the shops to get to the stairway to the rooms . The steps wind around and even go outside on the front of the ship. Then when I get there I find the rooms are separated by curtains like a big hospital ward. Worst is trying to find the buffet - you have to go up and down multiple sets of stairs. Is that nuts or what?

I had a crazy dream before my last cruise. First, I forgot my bathing suit. Second, I had no cash and went to the casino to get some but only got 2/3rds of the money I requested. For the rest I was told to fish through some newspaper like publication they gave me for coupons and vouchers valuing the rest of the money! Really frustrating!! I am glad this never really happened.

Funny thing is that DH had a dream about the cruise the same night!

Haha! These are good...I'm so glad I'm not the only one! The one last night was by far the most vivid. A giant wave? Crazy.

Another one I remember is getting ready to board the ship in San Juan only to discover we left all our documents (passports, Set Sail pass, etc) at home!!

It's anxiety all right. I've never had a cruise nightmare, but I've had the giant wave dream several times when I've been really stressed or anxious about something. It's my "stress dream".

I was very anxious for years just before cruising because of the excitement, anticipation, and trying to get everything done at home and work before I left. Now, it's my happy place dream to go on a cruise.

my dream is usually - after we drive to the port - we get in line - and when we finally approach the check-in person, I realize I forgot ALL our documents and papers - ID - the works.

I check and check and check again to make sure that I have every single piece of paper we may need. I figure one of these days we will actually get there with all our papers - and no luggage

My dreams usually involve getting to the airport only to find my suitcase is empty. I have to rush and shop before I get on the ship and buy all new things. After having this dream, I usually go ahead and do all my packing!!

Not a dream, but a reality. Went on a Christmas cruise one year, left right from work. Got to the ship, while hubby was parking realized we had left all the fancy hang up clothes and suits at home. Checked in, had a drink and ran home (about 2 hour round trip) and made it back to catch late lunch. Sure am glad we try to board early.

that blames these nightmares on RCI...
What? I shell out the bucks for the Presidential Suite and they don't have the decency to send me a month's worth of Ambien for the cruise? I'm coordinating a family group of 12 here, they really need to do something to manage my stress so I can sleep! ;)

My usual pre-cruise (like the night before) dream goes much like this!

We wake up and get to the airport, only to find out our flight has been delayed. Get on the first flight, and get to the layover, and find out that flight has been delayed. Thankfully we are smart enough to fly the day before.

Get to our arrival destination (it changes as the destination does), and are told at the hotel or families house that there is no room/reservation and they can't help us. We are unable to find a place to stay, and are forced to sleep on the streets that night.

We wake up with a crack addict going through our luggage, and after getting out things back we head to the port. We get there, and find that our passports are sitting at home. RCCL works with us to get to a phone. RCCL strangely has someone in our hometown, and that person is will to go to our house, and verify they are legit documents. After that we nightmare we are able to board, only to find out they have overbooked the ship, and due to the time it took to get our documents verified, we are put ashore, and we watch the ship sail away....without us. Now we are stuck, and we realize when they put us ashore, they didn't put our luggage ashore.

About that time the alarm goes off and i wake up for real. Nothing like a stressful way to head to the airport!

I've been having a recurring dream for several years now. I get on the ship and go to my cabin to unpack and when I open my suitcase, it is empty and I realize that I forgot to pack.

With the exception of my first 2 cruises, I think I've had cruise nightmares for every cruise after. I remember them all vividly but the one that sticks out the most is I am getting ready for Welcome Aboard Reception. I look in my suitcase and I've either left my dress at home, or I forgot to have it dry cleaned - the scary part is that the dress is white:eek:

Oh, another one is that I brought my beautician on board to style my hair for dinner. She had to disembark before she was done. One part of my hair was straight, the other part was an afro. :o LOL

This morning I was on the shuttle to Port canaveral and realized I did not have my passport or credit cards - fortunately just a dream:)

I leave tomorrow and you can bet my passport is the first thing I packed today.:p

We were stopped by this guy in San Juan! They had "sailed down there on their sailboat" and the "police wouldn't help." He saw BF's UW hat and said he was from Milwaukee.

He's still around?!
