Stateroom 9676 and 9681 on Voyager Class

Recommended Posts

We have booked cabins 9676 and 9681 - balcony connecting to an inside, for our family of four (2 adults and children 4 and 7) for a 14 day cruise for next winter on the Explorer. However, when we look at pictures of the ship, the balcony view does not look very good. We are wondering if anyone has stayed in these rooms on the Voyager Class ships and if anyone has pictures? Should we book an Aft JS or a Grand Suite for our family and have better stateroom location?

We haven't stayed in them but at first I was confused how a balcony could connect to an interior room since they are usually across the hall. But sure enough, your pair DOES do that.

We love aft cabins so it's really up to your budget and how close the family wants to be for the cruise. The family suites with the extra bathroom are nice

What do you mean "the view doesn't look very good"? It's the same view as all the other cabins...even a GS!!!! You're worrying about nothing at all. Now, if you need an excuse to book a suite, just do it, but the "view" won't be an excuse!!!!

We stayed in these cabins on the Adventure and loved the set-up. We were able to have our balcony and our girls were able to have their own room. This also meant two bathrooms which was a definite plus!

The window washing equipment was to the right of the balcony but it did not obstruct our ocean view. The view is obviously not the same as a regular aft balcony.

We stayed in a balcony cabin with our children in a connecting Oceanview room. It was the PERFECT set up for a family. Loved having 2 bathrooms.

Think you have to book early to get these rooms as there are not many on the Voyager class ships.

Correct. Each Voyager class ship has just two pairs of these rooms. (the OP's and the ones directly across). It is a unique set up, and just perfect for a family of four, as you can tell.

The balcony view will be fine. Not quite as "sweeping" as a hump balcony view, but quite nice.

It's not an aft cabin, so no discussion of aft cabins and their balconies is apt here.

Great job, nabbing those cabins, melmich!

DW and I have these cabins booked March 9, 2012 but are wondering if there is more motion given you are near the back. We have always been in the middle of ships and my sense is there is no more movement back there than in the middle. I was wondering from those who have stayed in 9676/9681 or the same on the other ships should we be concerned about seasickness?
