Back to Barbados... for much more than a day!

In Jan. we were on Barbados for a day on our cruise on the Carnival Victory. We went to Bottom Bay, Crane and Accra/Rockley. We loved what little we saw of the island so much we knew we'd go back one day. Well... it looks like it's going to be sooner than later and will be our next vacation.

Aplmac, you are largely responsible for our new found Barbados addiction, particularly through all your photos. ;)

When we're there we want to get a car of part of the time and check out Bathsheba and go back to Botoom Bay amongst other places. We're not sure where to stay. We did enjoy the Accra/Rockly area very much, but are also interested in the West coast. Maybe a split? We're looking at a couple weeks, possibly over Christmas, or early Dec. or Jan. There are pros and cons to when's the best time to go for us, so haven't decided yet.

I am in the researching stage now (and enjoying it). We're looking for something more at the budget to mid-range and MUST have a kitchenette for some meals, but also be close to casual dining options and shopping. Location is more important than fancy. It doesn't need to be right on the beach, but absolutely within short walking distance (across the street or a block or two max). We're open to maybe apartments/condos or a little cottage rather than just hotels.

So Aplmac, or anyone else, if you have suggestions for places to stay, I'd love to hear them. Woohoo... going back to Barbados! :)

Sunseeker ,

We stayed at the Coconut Court and found it awesome and affordable .

great rates and facilities . Family owned and unpretentious , it was perfect for us and free breakfast buffet . Food was above average at medium prices . Burger to die for , believe it or not . Just a thought . Ted

Hotel rates go from warm to hot come midnight Dec.14th./15th.

Clever people come early Dec. and are gone by Dec. 14th!

The weather in early Dec. is usually 'pleasantly warm' rather than hot

-and this timing saves some $$. ;)

Hi Apimac! Hope you are still checking on Cruise Critic. as this is an old post .. We are going to Barbados from a cruise and are staying there for two nights. Love seeing all your gorgeous beach pictures throughout Barbados... We have been on line trying to find a hotel on the West coast that is not crazy expensive but still very nice..We will be there on the 4th and 5th of Dec and there 3 of us. A Mother and daughters and would like to stay in the same room...What we found wanted us to get two rooms which makes it very expensive. If you could give us some thoughts as we are kind of going in circles... thank you so much....
