Berk987 Posted April 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2010 I'll probably never be that close to a descending plane again so we will try. Is it very loud? We'll have 2 kids with us. Thanks.
mrpayroll Posted April 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2010 Just a wild guess, but yes i would think they would be VERY loud as they are passing about 20 to 30 feet over your head..
Berk987 Posted April 2, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted April 2, 2010 I thought so. I watched Pushing Tin several years ago and have it on my queue on NetFlix so I'm hoping to get the real experience.:)
Riversedge Posted April 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2010 We stayed there for a week last month. We didn't think they were that bad. You don't want to stand right behind where they're coming in or you'll get sand blasted. If you watch from Sunset Beach Grill you'll be in a good spot. The kids will LOVE it. It was my favorite part of the trip.

We saw people get thrown into the water AND sandblasted. It may be a cheaper version of dermabrasion, but I wonder how many are still picking sand out of their skin 2 months later. IGGY63 Posted April 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2010 It can be loud, but well worth the trip. You probably won't find a similar experience. anywhere. Search 'maho beach' on youtube and you will get many clips.
Aplmac Posted April 2, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2010 It can be loud, but well worth the trip. You probably won't find a similar experience. anywhere. Few visitors realize this buton Barbados, there's a road that runs right behind the end of our runway where the big jets scream right overhead. Wilcox Road is the name.. But it's not a scenic beach area or nuthin like that so it's hardly a tourist attraction! Aviation buffs know about it, as do us locals here on da islan' but I just thought you'd like to know about it in case you're a serious plane freak and would like to do it while on Barbados (-especially if you rent a car: that would help) .
