Has anyone ever hit a sizeable jackpot on the cruise ships? (say $250 or more--I usualy get 20-25 coins max...it seems) The Casinoa is one of my favorite spots some evenings....:o

My mom has won $5000, but that was on a $5 slot. Many, many years ago, I won $5200 on a dollar slot. But to be honest, I dont' see many big jackpots anymore. Maybe once or twice a cruise you'll see bigger jackpots.

Our tablemate on Costa in Feb. won over $500 on a PENNY slot! Said she'd have gotten more if she'd done something esle with her bet. Not a gambler so didn't mean anything to me.

Friend won over $500 in Nov. on a slot but not penny.

Just a hunch and from what I have seen on recent ships of very few people playing slots is that the odds are better in casinos than ships. The blackjack and poker rules seem house slanted more than casinos....;)

I have won $800 2 years ago on the first slot machine I sat down at right before the casino opened on the first day. It was slot machine that I had never seen before it had to with chickens and if you got 5 chickens you got to pick eggs, well I picked all the right eggs and it just adding up. It was a .05 cent slot machine. I also won $400 on King Midas on the first night of my cruise last year. it was also .05 cent slot machine. Now this year I didn't do so well in the casino on the Dream. However, I was in the casino when a lady hit the $23,000 progressive jackpot on a penny quick hit machine. Of course I had been playing that machine at one time or another. It was about the 4th night into the cruise that she won. Oh well maybe next year on the miracle cruise I'll do better.

In 2001 my mom won 2500.00 in the first 5 minutes when the casino opened the first night on a nickle machine.

I find the casino is very tight the past two years. I doubt we will use it next cruise--

My DH hit a royal flush on a .25 poker machine and won 1,000 on theNCL Star two years ago. Two nights later one of the people we became friendly with won 1,000 also on a different poker machine.

It seems that progressive slots are the way to go, whether on land or sea. I don't do slots on cruises, but can usually make $40 last for an enjoyable evening in the ship's Casino playing BlackJack.

Non-cruise related, but you should see the furor going on in our state about "Bingo slots!" Greyhound racing and betting is just fine, but - gasp - slot machines are a big no-no!

$11,000 is the largest slot win for us. $800 on another cruise. Quite a few wins around $250.

Cruises ship slots are always tighter than land casino's but still can provide fun win or loose. Never spend more than you can afford to loose and never expect to win. That doesn't mean you can't hope for a win just be realistic in your expectations. Biggest key is knowing when to stop!;):)

Thanks, it sounds like there is a slight bit of hope...lol I usually only play nickels and quarters. I enjoy it but don't play until I lose the shirt off my back..... just my pants (lol);)
