Carnival Survey

Recommended Posts

I didn't get the questionaire yet, but below are my choices if it were sent to me. I think many of them are intentionally designed to find other underlying desires . . . especially for those that call Carnival to book cruises, like trinkets and memorabilia, drinkers, etc.

I'd trade any of them for special preferred cruise pricing for PLATINUM cruisers. :)

I copied and pasted a few questions because I knew someone would want to know. ;)

They had 3 different questions that had a set of possible perks, and you were to pick the ones that were very important/definitely use. After you picked those, they asked you to rank them in order of your top 3. Here's the 3 different groupings they had (Each section also had an "Other" option where you could write in your own benefit):

#1

A “welcome back” goodie bag 3

Priority debarkation, ahead of self-assist 2

A personal greeter waiting at the pier to escort you through embarkation

Complimentary valet parking at the pier

A free photo of your embarkation

Complimentary car service to and from the airport

Cabin available as soon as you board

Crew members at the pier who call you by name

Earlier embarkation for Platinum guests 1

Dedicated porters at the pier to carry your luggage

#2

A personal concierge that you can call anytime on-board to help you (for instance, with restaurant reservations, or shore excursion advice)

“New and exciting” shore excursions that are only offered to Platinum guests

A small dinner with the captain and/or senior officers 1

Complimentary shoe shine

A nice bottle of wine waiting in my room to thank me for coming back 2

Able to bring 2 bottles of alcohol on-board

“Behind the scenes” tours of select ship areas

Priority seating at shows

Discounted shore excursions

High quality in-room bath items (shampoos, lotions etc.)

A visit from the captain and/or senior officers at my dinner table, thanking me for coming back

A wine tasting event only for Platinum guests

Pins or lanyards that you wear to show the number of cruises you’ve been on

A free steakhouse dinner for two awarded every few cruises 3

Afternoon tea only for Platinum guests

A separate “Platinum” area at the pool with available lounge chairs

On-board casino credit

Priority shore excursion reservations

Discounts off on-board items, like photos, gift shop, spa etc.

Free in-room movies

A complimentary cabin upgrade (every few sailings) to the next cabin type (for instance, from interior to exterior)

A separate “Platinum” seating area at shows

Presents from Carnival that you get to choose from (for instance, beach towels, wine glasses, luggage tags etc.)

24-hour room service menu with hot and cold items

Free drink tickets left in my room

#3

Gifts from Carnival that are sent to my house, such as “limited-edition” Carnival Christmas ornaments

A dedicated Platinum call center line

A dedicated senior-level person at the corporate office I can talk to about my cruise and ideas for improvement

“Thank you” calls from Carnival executives

An online Carnival message board where you can meet other passengers before your next sailing

A website where you can login and track your personal cruise history with Carnival, including days sailed, ship etc. 3

Notice of new itineraries and other information before it is released to the general public

A “Platinum-only” cruise planner you can call to get information on upcoming sailings, availability and advice

A online Carnival community website, where you can see blogs and photos from crew members, and know which sailings they will be on

Birthday and holiday greeting cards sent to my house from Carnival

Priority booking on the newest Carnival ships 2

Special discounts and “last minute” pricing only available to Platinum cruisers 1

Contests that only Platinum guests can enter (for instance, to win a free cruise)

OK. Just finished.

Did not like the question about maintaining Platinum status by having 10 days of cruising in over the last 24 months, or pay up for it to maintain it ! ! .

That would do it for me. If Carnival suddenly decided they prefer to ONLY reward those that cruise frequently LATELY, then they'd lose my loyalty. Have had numerous opportunities to cruise other lines over the last 3-4 years and my loyalty to Carnival has always prevailed, but that would be the final "nail".

Interesting qualifying number also . . . 10 days would require at least TWO cruises every 24 months to fulfill this requirement . . . . . . . . Cute, real cute.

I'm Platinum ,completed my survey.

Questions were mostly directed at their Past Guest Program .

Perhaps they realize that the Carnival program needs improvement

and changes:o

Also ,something tells me that my Platinum benefits will be shared by Suites or reduced with an expiration date.

I'm platinum and I didn't get one. I hope they keep the laundry service. I also don't think suites and balonies should get platinum perks. They should get 10 just like the rest of us did before the perks start.

I got the survey and completed it as well. Just finished my 7th cruise with Carnival in March.

I don't recall the above mentioned question in the survey. I hope I didn't overlook it because I certainly would not agree to that.

I got the survey, and filled it out, did not taked 20 minutes,

When I got it I thought I was special, now I see everyone got one,

I hope is does cause some changes to the programs.

Nope...not everyone got one...I didn't...so you ARE special. ;)

We will be Platinum - after our cruise in January 2011 ;). Most of the Platinum perk are nice - but they would lure us to book with Carnival, just because we are entitled to the perks.

I really do hope that they get some good information and can make changes in the rewards program that will make it "special". Because as I stated before - the current system is useless, for us .

we are platinum cruisers as well and we did get the survey and complet it. just got off the Dream a week ago and already have another Carnival cruise planned in September.

I too didn't appreciate the possible forfeit of our platinum status if you would be unable to cruise for a period of time. We have been lucky enough to cruise multiple times per year over the last five years however if Carnival enacted a clause about taking away the classification for some reason (i.e. family illness or economical issue) precluded you for vacationing seems idiotic to me. Making that type of brand change would definitely lose my business.

I would love to have a seat around the pool as well as recieve a complimentary supper club meal or even recieve last minute deal information. We often cruise last minute and that would definitely get us cruising more.

*jumps off the soapbox

GO SAINTS!

I am Platinum and got that question. I did not agree with that question or any question that had to do with amount of days to next level rather than amount of cruises.

They might have different questions for gold or platinum guests. Or depending on how you answered a previous question. I noticed this when I answered one question one way, went to the next question, then changed my mind on the previous question and went back to change an answer, then went back to the next question and noticed that it had changed some of the choices that I could choose from.

FYI - I also didn't agree to the questions concerning special seating at the shows or Lido deck.

Neither myself or my mom has received the survey. We both have cruised with Carnival 34 times with the last sailing being the March 22, 2010 sailing of the Carnival Destiny. With living in Michigan the last minute deals would not do us any good as we would also have to find last minute flights.

I didn't get the email. Maybe they only sent it to Platinum guests????

We are both Platinum and have three upcoming cruises and we got no survey either. We also own Carnival stock which you would think our opinion would count but I guess it doesn't. Since they send us plenty of emails, they definitely have our email address. I guess it like every other "survey" we have ever heard the results of......we NEVER get asked, we NEVER get a survey, NO ONE has polled us. When asked, NO ONE we know has ever been asked or surveyed so..........you wonder who they do ask???

I certainly understand supply and demand. But for us.... the "past guest" program has been pretty useless :o.

We prefer aft wrap balconies and - as we all know - you have to book those way out. So, when we book - at least a year out and often further than that - the past guest rates are not out yet. Then when the past rates come out it does not apply to the aft wraps - because they are all sold .

We really do enjoy the VIP embarkation that comes with the wraps that are suites - but that perk has nothing to do with being a past guest.

Obviously we love to cruise and will contiune to do so - perks or no perks. But - I do wish that there was some benefit to us for choosing to contiune to book with Carnival.

We have an aft wrap on the Splendor on 9-26-10 and just got a $140.00 reduction in our bill (far from final payment date) Sent us a new invoice with the new pricing (it was $70.00 each) We use a PVP at Carnival itself - not sure if that makes a difference.....or maybe because it is hurricane season. Glad we got it when we did, on John Heald's blog he was talking about the possibility of being on the Splendor Aug through Nov - that will certainly increase bookings and the discounts will probably go away.

That is awesome - good for you :D!!

We have never seen a price drop on any of our aft wraps. Our CVS explained that the price drops are based on "supply and demand" - that they drop the price to help move cabins for a particular sailing. Since there are no available wrap cabins - because they have already sold - that they do not need to drop the price :(. Which in theory - I totally understand. But that just makes that "perk" useless for us - which I do find disappointing.

Been thinking about this since you posted it yesterday.......

Why would they even consider such a change . I can not imagine the uproar that would happen if past platinum cruises "lost" that status because they had not cruised recently.

YIKES  - it would be worse that the fuel supplement threads of a few year ago  !!
