ocean players club perks/opc response

Contacted OPC and let them know I was returning. Last cruise I received chocolate covered strawberries, photo coupon, and bar coupon. This time they told me I didn't qualify:mad:. Said, I didn't spend enough in casino last cruise. I didn't take no for an answer. I wrote back hoping to get someone else. I did, and this was the response I received "We would like to extend to you our Standard Bon Voyage package". My persistence paid off:D. Now, does anyone know what that package includes???

I don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but I'm pretty sure the "standard" Bon Voyage is the letter for the free drink and 500 points from the casino host.

I'm thinking that you are wanting is the one I got, but don't see how being "persistent" will change the amount you gambled on your last cruise.

The letter I got says:

"We would like to extend to you a premium bon voyage package! You’re on our guest list and are all set. Have a wonderful sailing!"

Dont get too excited... its not that big a deal... Everyone gets the same letter when they put in their information on the website AND ONLY if you qualify for more, you will then get another letter upon arrival to your cabin...

First it depends on many coins you put into the machines during your cruise... 10,000 being the minimum... Obviously, you can play the penny machines and then you might qualify for a free drink and 500 points on your card... The more you play, the more you might qualify for... I received some $$$$$ at the Cashiers Window, my Casino Host offered me free drinks all week long on the Freedom (the first time in a long time) and I also got a $15 Photo Coupon. I was offered and turned down the Champagne and the Chocolate Covered Strawberries...

Personally, I dont think it was your persistence that paid off... BTW, I bet you spoke with Michael or got the email from him at the Casino Players Club....he's the only one there!!!

Before I sailed on Liberty in Feb. I contacted (using their form) the opc club. Once at the casino, I was told they do not do the letter/free drink/500 pts. anymore. However, I did receive a bottle of champagne, choc. strawberries, a fruit basket, 2 photo coupons, petit fours, and 4 drink coupons in my cabin the first night for past play. I think it was the "deluxe" package. I also was offered free drinks in the casino (penny slot player) whenever the host saw me.

The levels of membership is determined by how often you take a cruise on one of our member lines and how many points you accumulate on the slots or how much you play at the tables. The levels may vary from one cruise lines players club to another.

An approximate guideline is as follows:

OPC%20Clover%20Alone%28Mini%29.JPG Ocean Player - 0 to 9,999

OPC%20Clover%20Alone%28Mini%29.JPG Gold Player - 10,000 to 24,999

OPC%20Clover%20Alone%28Mini%29.JPG Platinum Player - 25,000 to 49,999

OPC%20Clover%20Alone%28Mini%29.JPG Platinum VIP - 50,000 plus

To be awarded the levels of membership you have to reach the above level of points within a 24 month period:

I always buy chips with cash at the tables.. Do you have to use your S&S to get credit for this? How else do they know how much you've spent?

You ask them to track your play. I think generally you will have to play $25 or more to rate. They will check periodically to see how long you have been playing and what your average bet is.

Benefits :

All members are eligible for the special offers advertised on the club News and Promotions page (some promotions and rewards may be based upon your current point level).

Slot Players :

Slot players can earn points as they play by placing their onboard account card in the card reader on the machine every time they play*. Instant cash back rewards are paid at the machine. Slot players may also receive complimentary beverages while playing, free gifts and other onboard benefits dependant upon their level of play*. Please see the casino host on your cruise for details.

Points are worth one cent each. Instant cash back rewards are paid in units of $10 for every 1,000 points earned up to a maximum of $2,500, or 250,000 points, per cruise. One point is awarded for every $2.50 of coin in on regular slots, and one point for every $5.00 of coin in on video pokers.

Table Players :

Table players can be rated when playing at most of the table games on all of our member cruise lines. Please advise the pit personnel every time you play if you wish to be rated. Players will earn points** based upon their average bet and time played. There are minimum criteria for play to be rated, please check with the casino table personnel on your cruise.

Table players may receive complimentary beverages while playing, free gifts, and other onboard benefits dependant upon their level of play. Please consult the casino host or casino staff onboard for more details.

*This promotion is available on all Carnival Cruise Lines vessels and on selected Princess Cruises and Holland America Line vessels.

**Points earned at tables are not eligible for instant cash back rebates.

Please contact the OPC at 1 888-OPC-CLUB (672-2582) for cruise information and cruise benefits that may be available to you.

{ i see whoever wrote this should spell check it - dependant should be spelled dependent }

I think some people need to spend/waste more time reading here.

Things change (many things) and months and months later, folks show up and are so surprised!! ;)

What? No more OBC when the price drops? What's this Early Saver thing about? No more mailed documents? When did they reconfigure the deck plans? :p

Casino club hasn't been doing the strawberry thing for two years now.

And no writing to them to let them know you're cruising. They already know.

Free drink & 500 points. I'm perfectly happy with that as I don't even spend that much in the casino and all I play are slots.

Laughed when I read your post. (And I know there are many other "OMG, No Way!, surprises")

Totally agree with your last statement. I mostly play penny slots. Last cruise I did play a quarter slot. After about five or six spins I hit a bonus for $100. Cashed out and went back to pennies.
