Tell Me Some Secrets

Recommended Posts

I'm a Princess Gal and I've just booked a November Mexican Riv cruise on the Carnival Spirit.

I know Princess secrets such as you can order hot breakfast items on the writing in what you want on the room service order form and the speciality coffee card is the best bargain on the 7 seas. Complimentary sushi and tapas in Vines all day.

Now can you experts on all things Carnival share some insider tips that might make my cruise more enjoyable.

Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to trying Carnival.

I can't offer any specific secrets except tell you that I too am a newbie CCL cruiser come July - but one thing I can say is the folk here on the CCL side are totally down to earth, very helpful, and I am thinking this cruise line will not disappoint either one of us.

there's a super long and long-running thread, 'carnival secrets they usually don't tell you about'... it started way long ago, so some might be out-dated... but not all...

a few off the top of my head, though...

- you can get a free lanyard & get a hole punched in your S&S card at the casino

- you can get anti-seasick pills from guest services desk for free

- they'll give you a free pack of cards at guest services

- room service is free, just tip for delivery (still surprised some people don't realize this)

- if you opt for anytime dining, you CAN request the same wait staff every night

- you can join a slots or blackjack tournament for about 20.00 - some enjoy this

- free drinks at farewell party on last sea day

- 1.00 off drinks at 'captain's reception'

- complimentary sushi before dinner each day

- complimentary soft-serve ice cream 24 hrs a day

- get a 5.00 casino MATCH with purchase of 'signature drinks' (8.75) like the mojito

- you can often drop spent bingo tickets for a drawing / raffle later (we won this)

- some bingo games are better deals - like half price, or with other non-cash prizes

- fill out your survey card at the end for a chance to win a free cruise

- they often offer a free galley tour

- or you can pay for a 'behind the scenes / fun' tour of the off-limit areas of the ship

- they often have laundry specials on port days which are a good deal!

- wait to shop until the later days of the cruise, they often offer good sales!

- if you purchase liquor in the shops, they'll give it to you the last night :D

- the q&a sessions with the cruise director can be interesting

- look out for 'the quest' - not all ships have it, but it's a blast!

- there's typically a midnight mexican buffet / deck party one night

there - that's a few to get you started
