Do wireless cards work on the ships? Thinking of buying one for our cruise.

Your computer probably already has wifi installed. A wireless card is just like a service provider. On the ship, your service provider is MTN, a satellite service. EM

If you are asking, Do ships have wireless internet? The answer is yes and no. Some will have in all staterooms and some public areas, others will have only in some public areas, while others may not have it at all. Check with the Cruise line or TA.

 

If your laptop does not have wifi then by all means get a wireless card but be aware that internet usage on board is at best slow and pricey

Thanks. Yes my laptop has wifi so I see my need for a wireless card is none.

 

If I need to use the internet onboard I'll just pay by the minute in the internet cafe.
