good day to all loyal cc people . with the price of oil higher i suspect most cruise lines supplimental charges are either in effect or about to be . on the cruise line web sites they give when they will charge us but seldom say exactly how much. to those lucky people just off a cruise would you reply please indicting the cruise line and the daily charge for oil thank you . it would not be the deciding factor for my wife and i but could affect our choice of line and length of cruise . my finances only extend so far however i want to cruise so badly right now i might be willing to saceifice something else just to book a cruise.(an excursion or two or that new suit )

i have no objecion to paying the charges but would like to be able to plan ahead.thank you the line and daily charge is enough info for now

Cruiselines have yet to add the Fuel Supplements... they range from $9 - $10.00 per day per person..... just factor that into your budget to be safe and if it is not reinstated... you have $$$ to make donations to the casino with !

Oil has been fluxuating for quite sometime now and they have yet to impose the FS fee's.....Personally I think with the cruise rate increases we are starting to see, you are paying the FS fee's.........just in disguise !

fuel prices(oil prices) have not increased the way they did when they imposed the fuel surcharge. Even though the oil prices have been above the amount to impose the surcharge for over 6 months, no cruise line has imposed them. The cruise lines HAVE increased their general prices over the last six months anyway. And even though someone predicted/suggested that oil prices are on their way up to over 100 pb, the prices have in fact dropped since this was predicted. In short no one really knows but my bet is they won't be imposed unless there is a price hike that rapidly increases prices from their current level.

If the cruiselines imposed the fuel surcharge right now, it would seriously impact negatively on their business as people would most likely not book cruises...kind of risky to add another charge when the economy is just starting to come out of a downturn...why risk losing customers...and besides...they've likely hedged their fuel

I read an article yesterday, by Phil Reimer of the 'Vancouver Sun', and the CEO of Carnival Corporation, Micky Arison was quoted as saying. 'While we reserve the right to impose a surcharge, we have at this point no intention of doing so, based on today's environment.'

well I would have lost that bet

: Fred. Olsen has announced it will be adding £3(about $4.40) pppn fuel supp. to all new bookings from May 5. Max of £60 pp per cruise.

lets see if other cruise lines follow

What Fred Olsen does isn't particularly relevant for the mass market cruise lines that serve clientel primarily from North America. When one the giants...Carnival or RCI...makes a move, other mass market lines will jump on the bandwagon.
