CCbaby817 Posted April 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2010 I was filling out our FunPass this evening and got to the part where it asks for the Issuing City/Authority. Under that section on mine it says "United States Department of State." My husband's says "Houston". We both got them in TX. Does anyone else's say Department of State? Yes, I intend to call them when I get a chance to make sure this won't keep me from going on our trip, but I was just curious if anyone else has seen this. Thanks!!! cruizer4662 Posted April 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2010 You cannot change your passport, just put in what is there, let Homeland Security figure it out. The passport number is tied to the "CITY" that is listed.:D

I agree with the above poster, 3 out of our 4 say Dept of State and that is what we have always entered, one says Boston :) Have a great cruise! firefly333 Posted April 29, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Houston isnt a issuing city. In fact I think we got ours from Charleston this last time, and I live in Dallas. I called to find out the city, but if you dont know, I wouldnt just put in a random city. The old passports used to have the city on them, and carnival never updated their base, the question is now meaningless. They no longer put this on the new passports. Most passports that have been issued in the past five years or so say Department of State. It's no big deal. About five years ago, the Department of State made an effort to centralize their passport records instead of keeping them in the seven passport processing locations across the country. When your husband renews his passport, his will say Department of State too. No big thing, nothing to worry about!

You can put Houston, or you can put US Dept of State. It isn't one of those things they are going to cross check and pull you to the side about. No worries!
