ilm28411 Posted April 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I was just wondering what the largest OBC you have gotten from booking your cruise to your actual cruise sail date. Thanks
tiggerman101 Posted April 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2010 We had a little over $500 for each of our cabins on the Fascination for a Christmas cruise in 2008. My parents had booked the cruise in the summer for our whole family. That fall is when the economy tanked. By the time December rolled around the price had gone way down. We had 4 cabins on that cruise and we all had a ton of money to spend.

Kristi Williamson Posted April 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2010 We got a total of 440.00 OBC back in August of '09 on the Glory. We had adjoining cabins, so it was 220.00 per cabin, but since my kids were in the other cabin, my DH and I really felt like we were special! Price dropped about 10 days before heading out and we had the ES. I was TICKLED pink!

bcs819 Posted April 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2010 $700. Would have been more but my TA would have had to give back some of her commission. I decided we would have to do with the $700 :)

LemurCat Posted April 29, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2010 How the heck is everyone getting OBC's?? Most got them before the start of the Early Saver program. $360 a piece on two cabins. I don't think we paid for a thing on the ship the entire cruise.

Yellow Lab's Rule Posted April 29, 2010 #15 Share Posted April 29, 2010 On our last cruise in Nov. on Royal Caribbean, we got $950. We had paid in full but the price of the cruise kept going down so we got OBC instead of an upgrade. We cashed out what we didn't spend the last day and went home with cash in our pocket. That was a first!
Litewait Posted April 29, 2010 #16 Share Posted April 29, 2010 One cabin, over New Years, after booking Early Saver. Then I ended up cashing out the $60 remaining dollars to bring home. A month later got a refund check from Carnival for another $53... Great cruise!!:D

bcs819 Posted April 29, 2010 #20 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Most got them before the start of the Early Saver program. $360 a piece on two cabins. I don't think we paid for a thing on the ship the entire cruise. we didn't either. I actually went to the casino on the last night and got cash against my OBC. Used it for lunch at the airport :) No, we don't have the credit card. Just watched the prices. Saw a drop of what I thought would be $100 OBC. TA called back and said, "you're never going to believe this". Apparently, there was a price drop and even though we live in PA, we were using a DE travel agent, so we got linked in to a DE resident discount. I really coudln't believe it, but when we printed our docs, there it was. And when we got to our cabin, it was on the TV.

msjaxson Posted April 29, 2010 #22 Share Posted April 29, 2010 How the heck is everyone getting OBC's?? Early saver -- booked at 949 a person ..went down to $779 a person which amounts to $170 a person plus the cost of isnurance went down $28 due to the lower cost so my early saver on board credit was $368.. and the $400 was my carnival master card fun points... not too shabby
MamaParrotHead Posted April 29, 2010 #23 Share Posted April 29, 2010 I had about $600 between two cabins from when I booked to when we sailed in OBC from the ESR.
Lizzzys Posted April 29, 2010 #24 Share Posted April 29, 2010 $180 X 2 (we had an adjoining cabin for our kids) We sail in 3 days and I'm still addicted to checking every couple of hours to see what the new pricing is!! I don't know how I'll get out of that habit :) L
