newmexicoNita Posted May 10, 2010 #26 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Do they still have just the duvet and no top sheet? Last time we asked the steward to add a top sheet because there was none and the duvet was too hot. They have now added that top sheet so this makes a big difference. In the days of only the duvet, whether it was a hotel or cruise ship I hated everything about this, but now I can handle things just fine. CornMuffinsMama Posted May 10, 2010 #27 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Hmm, I'm wondering if I should take my own set of sheets.
Azure Moon Posted May 10, 2010 #28 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We are just off the Jewel and the sheets drove me crazy! They were almost like the old fashioned percale sheets, very crisp but almost plastic like and made a swishing noise. My daugher and I had our beds as twins and every morning I joked that her sheets kept me up all night! (the swishing noise really did) I don't like the sheets either and for the same reasons. Yuk. My sentiment exactly. Hmm, I'm wondering if I should take my own set of sheets. I'd be tempted to do just that if I had the extra space and weight in my luggage for them (which, sadly, I don't :(). JCLAWO Posted May 10, 2010 #29 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We just got back from cruising on the Dawn, our first on NCL. I found the beds to be a nice surprise. The beds were soft and the duvets were great! So much better than the old fashioned hotel style polyester bed spreads which are totally useless!
