Should be leaving two weeks from today - what clothes to wear on Mexican Rivera cruis

I am slowly packing clothes. I assume it will be warm in Mexico but how about from San Pedro, California to the Mexican Riveria. Are the days warm? Sleeveless tops, shorts, capris, long pants (I hope not).

Any recent travelers there?

The days will be sunny and warm but once the sun goes down it could get quite chilly. Capris will probably be ok, but definitely bring a sweater or light jacket. The ocean breezes will feel nice, but once out on the open water with no sun, it could get quite chilly on the top deck.

Your time in California may be chilly if you are right near the water and will probably be chilly the first and last day of your cruise. Having something like a sweater, jacket or sweatshirt will be a good idea for evening/night or if the winds are stronger.

May and June weather can be variable in Southern California. It can be warm. But we also get a cool overcast weather phenomenon that tends to last through June. We have given it the names - The "May Gray" and the "June-Gloom".

We all know to enjoy the June-Gloom because when the June -Gloom weather is over it gets really hot and the summer is upon us in full force.

So I suspect when the OP arrives it will be kind of cool in San Pedro. It can be hot but the cool weather is more likely.

Oh shoot. I was hoping for warm weather in San Pedro. How about Santa Monica?

Weather has been usually cold there lately all over LA region wind warning tonight and tomorrow. Second day out you will reach warmer weather but take a few wraps before hand.

I agree about the dining rooms and such being colder no matter where we are at. I hate AC being up so high

Will be cool as well. Jacket or sweater weather. We have been cold and cloudy the last few days and windy as well, but here in Cali it can be 65 one day and 85 the next. So I would suggest to be prepared for both cold and warm temps.

Hi - its cometr from our roll call...thanks for your post over here! I went shopping and bought all tank style tops and formals!! I'll be shopping again this weekend I guess! By the way - I love how much you talk about and will miss your dogs! People I work with are tired of hearing me talk about how much I will miss mine when we are gone! :(

I guess I should bring lots of clothes.

Yeah that's what I do but I get yelled at by my GF for being an overpacker. my philosophy is I would rather have too many clothes than not enough. But seriously I don't think you have to bring too many cold weather clothes just a sweater or light jacket will do. I think once your halfway down the coast it will warm up.

I share your philosophy on packing! Good thing it's less than an hour's drive to Long Beach for me. I'd get killed on baggage fees for flying in.

Don't stress too much over having to go shopping again. Just bring a sweater or jacket plus at least one pair of pants (instead of shorts) in case you are chilly. I also think that what we may consider cold or chilly here in Southern California is different than what most may think. (we get spoiled by the mild "cold" weather here)

gingee, I'm always cold (when not having a hot flash:eek:) I'm bringing a black and a white cardigan and a white hoodie. The cardigans go well with my sundresses and are very lightweight. Bring jeans and a sweater if you plan to ice skate.Katie is bringing all sundresses for casual nights. I will make her bring a sweater also.

We just got back on Sunday. Bring sweat pants and a heavy jacket/sweatshirt. We could not use our balcony Saturday, Sunday or Friday. it was warmer in Pennsylvania when we left. Water was cold in California and cool in Mexico. Our first and last MR cruise, will stay with the Carribean.
