norwegian excursions on list

I have been trying to book excursion for ventura in June and all the

trips we wanted to do are full and so we are on the list, so could end up doing nothing (very annoyed did not know you had to book the day you get brochure, we are new to cruising). Does anyone know if there is any chance of getting on an excursion if you are on a waiting list?

If you list your port or do a search in that forum there is plenty of info

 

Some may cancel closer to the day or just check once on the ship
