Question: Navigator of the Seas (Mediterranean)

Hi there,

 

My wife and I will be on the Navigator of the Seas in the Mediterranean.I just have a question. I know in the Caribbean they have lobster tails. In the Mediterranean, do they still serve lobster tails?

No, No lobster served in the med

Mediterranean 12 day I was on earlier this year had (small) lobster tails one evening. Part of a surf and turf if I recall correctly.

We were on the VOYAGER of the SEAS, just 10 days ago,

in the Med. out of Barcelona, for a 7 day cruise.

We were served a half lobster tail along

with a garlic Shrimp Scampi and, they were

wonderful.

I believe it was called a "Fishermans Platter"

 

I had heard Europeans were not fans of lobsters

but, we had them. ;)

I sailed the med last year on Voyager for 12 nights. We were served surf and turf; the surf was large shrimp. I got a private tour of the kitchen and the head chef said they normally don't serve lobster on European cruises due to the high cost. He said they can buy a lot more shrimp for the same price of a lobster tail; he did say they if prices come down they would look at serving lobster. The chef said in the Caribbean they can buy lobster at reasonable prices.

Are you sure that wasn't Tiger Shrimp?

 

When I did the Navigator Med. cruise, they served a Surf and Turf that was with the large shrimp. It was served in the half-shell, similar to a lobster tail. There was no lobster on my cruise.

Is there a specific night that Surf & Turf is served? I'm on the 7-Night Voyager Med cruise coming up at the end of the month.

They called it lobster on the menu. They lied to me?? Haha

We sailed the Navigator in the Med in 2008 and there wasn't a lobster in sight. :mad:
