SkyMaster Posted May 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2010 Cruisingcouple got it exactly correct. Mid ship dining room, UPPER level only! "SKY"

doublebzz Posted May 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Correct - your time dining is the upper level of the Galaxy Dining Room. We booked your time dining on Destiny cruise May 17-22 and were not too pleased. We asked for a large table but could not be accommodated. This dining room is set up primarily with small tables 2 or 4. Second, this is the most dismal dining room I've experienced - dark and dreary. If these factors are not important to you, go for it. Rare patrice1 Posted May 25, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted May 25, 2010 We want a table for 2, so it's fine with us. We had it on the Miracle and loved it. We've requested a table for two on all of our cruises, so it's nice to have Anytime and not have to see the M'D at the beginning of a cruise. sh3rryann Posted May 26, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2010 So, if we have "anytime dining" on Destiny we can't go to any of the other dining rooms? just the Galaxy or the buffet? is that true for breakfast, lunch & dinner? does that mean we won't have the elegant night or any of the "singing waiters"? am new to all this, so just asking. thanks for your help. For dinner, you can only go to the upper level of the Galaxy dining room; the other rooms are reserved for prescribed dining times (early or late sitting). If there is open dining, you go to the dining room that serves open dining. Generally, all breakfasts are open dining and some lunches. On Destiny, open dining was in the lower level of the aft dining room, I believe called Universal, where we took breakfast on the final day of the cruise. The so called "formal night" is the suggested dress code in both dining rooms. The singing waiters are timed to the early and late sittings so if you chose to dine within a half hour or so of the scheduled sittings, you will likely see them perform. If you chose to eat about 7:30 like we did, you may miss the dining staff do their thing.

Good to know, so if we "crash" the wrong room, they'll just tell us to move along.:o Don't know if we really care about the singing waiters, as it sounds like they don't particularly enjoy performing. Is the menu still the same for any of the rooms, including "anytime"? Most of it looks wonderful! Hurry September!!!

The menu is the same and we caught the waitstaff doing "Jai-Ho" one night. It was fun.
