Finding a deck chair

Our family (DH and 3 teens) will be cruising for the first time on RCC to the Caribbean in March/11. I understand that it is difficult to find a deck lounger after early a.m. Any tips or suggestions?

Thank you.

It can be difficult to find a chair, but if you see chairs with just towels on them, and it looks as if they have been there for a while (reserved by those awful chair hogs), just find a pool attendant and ask him/her to remove the towels. They are usually pretty good about finding chairs for people.

The upper decks have plenty of chairs....not everyone can be within spitting distance of the pool....and those upper decks are less crowded and quieter, too! The chairs near the pool are so close together, that you can't get into them unless you turn "butt up" and crawl!

LOL thanks for that mental picture!

i figure, if i want to be lounging in the sun, i want peace and quiet and won't mind going to an upper deck away from it al. If i want to be in the pool, then i don't need a lounger by the pool and shouldn't hog it. Or if i want to enjoy the scenery, i'll sit on the bench that usually lines the pool, the ledge of the pool itself or one of the chairs in the shade (not the loungers).

There's plenty of opportunities for people to have what they want. I would love to be the lounger police, "chalking" someone's stuff and coming around 30 minutes later to take it to lost and found if it's not been claimed. Sure i'd piss off the lounge hogs, but i'd be making many others very happy :)
