I am constantly reading about some of the Suite Perks and the Suite Life.... I am sailing on the Star in a few weeks and considering an upgrade to an AB Suite....

I would like to know what are all of the perks to the Suite... I have read about a few but I am sure there are many others.... I would like to get a list going here on 1 thread.... List any perks that you know about, your favorite perks and maybe some that others dont know about.... Thank You.

I'll let those who've been in suites answer. But I'll share something I asked about a week ago. I was curious if you get priority disembarkation at Ports of Call. Some said yes, some said no. Seems to go by the ship for some reason. So if you need to get off quickly at a port, ask the concierge, maybe they will take you off first (and maybe they won't)

Special check in line at the dock. Escort onto the ship. Breakfast and lunch at Cagneys. Snacks each afternoon. Bottle of wine and 1 bottle of water on embarquation. Vip tender tickets in ports where you have to tender. Vip luggage tags on debarquation. Use of concerciege to make dinner reservations or to book you tours or to answer any questions you may have. Butler to deliver snacks and take care of your AWSOME coffee machine. All of that plus your fantastic cabin. I have sailed an AB 4 times now and I am sooooooooooo spoiled.

I just got off the NCL Jade in the Owners Suite - but I've also sailed in an A4 (same as AB except no extra bedroom.) Believe me when I say the suite life is the BEST and totally worth it!

I think people may have forgotten to mention fresh flowers for the suite. The concierge will help you if you make friends with her. I gave ours a $35 tip for the week (I had only had her make 5 reservations for us - I'm pretty low maintenance) and spent some time chatting with her and she actually carried my luggage off the ship to the taxi when we disembarked! She is tops in my book!

The butler is wonderful - he setup two parties for us in our suite, I told him to bring whatever he thought and he did a fantastic job.

Bottle of wine and 1 bottle of water on embarquation.

On the Dawn, we got champagne, not wine in the AB. And, no bottled water (for free anyway; there are bottles of water in the suite, but there is a fee for them).

Some of our favorite perks are breakfast and lunch in Cagneys, priority embarkation, priority reservations in the specialty restaurants, priority disembarkation, and the best service on earth! And, yes, you will have priority disembarkation at the ports of call, but you need to tell your concierge that you'd like to disembark quickly. He/she will escort you through a maze of corridors and stairwells and suddenly you'll be at the disembarkation ramp in front of everyone in line.

Cagneys for breakfast and lunch is the best perk. Check how many days you will be onboard for breakfast and lunch at the times Cagneys is open. Also, check how many ports have tendering and if you will want to get off early there and are not on a ship's tour. Some of the other perks depend on who your concierge is and what she/he is willing to do for you. Sometimes, the higher end suites get better service from the concierge than the AD and AE get.

We recently returned from a trip to Alaska on the Star in an AE Cabin. I don't think our butler did anything exceptional but being able to eat breakfast and lunch in Cagney's, and having priorty boarding was well worth the expense of the suite. Will we sail in a suite again, YES, YES, YES!!

You only get priority disembarkation for tender ports. Those VIP tender tickets will get you off after the NCL excursions but before everyone else. I don't know if you can make special arrangements for a docked port.

Might I suggest that next time you have the butler serve you dinner in your cabin?

On the Dawn last year we had our butler, Patrick, serve us from

the French restaruant and he put a Frank Sinatra cd on. That was

real nice of him and we really did enjoy eating in the room.

According to the suite perks page on ncl.com, there should be water.

Do they still restock the water, or is it now a single bottle for the cruise?

Well, never had it free. There were 2 big bottles of Evian in the suite with a tag on each one with the price (don't remember how much now). But, we never used them.

  • 1 month later...

I've heard that cabins are available around 2:00ish. I was wondering with priority embarkation and an escort to our suite, will we be able to get to our cabin (AD) earlier than 2?

At the least, do you think we'd be able to drop off our carry-on luggage (a cooler with my DH's diabetes meds) in our suite, even if it's not ready for us to use? It would be nice to drop off the cooler bag, then grab lunch at Cagney's. If not, there will be ice packs in with the meds so it won't be a problem, but it would be more convenient to just stick it in the frig.

You can, if the concierge is willing.

I was told no when we booked. AE is the lowest category that gets you perks

We have sailed in category AE mini suites on the Sky, Pearl, and Jewel. We have never received any extras or perks. We continue to book AE because they are nice, large cabins. We think it's worth extra cost.

I guess you meant AF, because AE on the Jewel and Pearl are Penthouse suites, and receive full suite perks.

You're right-my mistake. The AE we've booked is a B2B on the Sun in November. (Another mini suite-without perks.):)
