Our experience (twice) was that we were taken directly to our suite, although the last time our suite (AE) was not quite completely ready for us. So I think you will be taken there can drop off your supplies and go to lunch at Cagenys which we did.

On the Pearl in May we got priority disembarkation at all ports as well as at the end of the cruise.

I'll let those who've been in suites answer. But I'll share something I asked about a week ago. I was curious if you get priority disembarkation at Ports of Call. Some said yes, some said no. Seems to go by the ship for some reason. So if you need to get off quickly at a port, ask the concierge, maybe they will take you off first (and maybe they won't)

When we were on the Pearl in May, Ryan Rabbe had people meet at the Star Bar and then arranged for priority disembarkation.

You only get priority disembarkation for tender ports. Those VIP tender tickets will get you off after the NCL excursions but before everyone else. I don't know if you can make special arrangements for a docked port.

I have found they work fine whenever you are ready head down, some Shorex jobsworth might occationaly say they have even more priority.

If very discreet and the dock layout is suitable they can also work returning to the ship, handy if the line is more than a few tenders long.

You're right-my mistake. The AE we've booked is a B2B on the Sun in November. (Another mini suite-without perks.):)

Yes, but, the Sun mini-suites are the best in the fleet. Much grander than the other ships. We love the Sun.

Really. I will have to remember to have yo describe them in Oct. We are not far from Port C, so it may become our cruise of choice. Unfortunately, suite prices are super high right now.

I remember some posts that some of the ships (not all) have a cordless phone you can take with you and can call the butler or concierge from anywhere on the ship.

Don't know which ships.

AE and above get the perks below that is Mini suite which is just a deluxe balcony, no perks but large room/balcony.

FWIW

The STAR AB suites did have the cordless phones when I was on it a few year back...:) You can call cabins and keep in touch that way with the phone as well.

Al, if you don't want to wait until October for the full report, here's a link to some photos from one of the aft minisuites on the Sun. It was incredible -- much larger and grander than the other ships' minisuites, especially the bathroom and dressing room.

They also work some distance from the ship, so you can get the butler to run your hot bath so it is ready on return.

Adele... Thanks so much. They really are beautiful, and definately nicer than on other ships.

I agree. After enjoying a mini suite on the Sun, we were a little disappointed with the same category on both the Jewel and the Pearl. We're back on the Sun in November!

Are these meals the same as served in Windows/Garden Restaurants or something different? Do we pay a surcharge for each breakfast and lunch (as we would for each specialty dinner) or are they included?

I have done 'some' research on the Boards and remember reading that the breakfast you can get in your suite, as well as the Room Service menu itself, is expanded over what's available in the Not-So-Suite Life...

Yes, OH yes! We took our first mini-suite cruise on the SUN through the Canal and were completely spoiled. Special room service menu including the wonderful little Scandinavian sandwiches. Also LOVED the bathtub in the mini suite. And that was back in the day when you had the Concierge in the Mini suites.

As folks have pointed out here before, they are really just deluxe balconies now. When we took one on the Star we struggled with a wee bit of disappointment in the room, especially the tub.

Luckily, we were right next to the spa so I just used that wonderful wet room for my bath!

Now we are strictly Suites and Penthouses!

The Cagney's menu at breakfast and lunch is different than the main dining rooms. This perk is included in the fare paid by those in penthouse suites and above, you don't pay an additional charge for it.

Thanks, that's very good to know...

Is there a concierge lounge for suite guests?

Not a concierge lounge, but concierge services. In other words, you'll have his/her direct # (portable phone) for any questions. He/she will make restaurant reservations, spa appointments, excursion reservations for you. Any questions you have about anything outside of your cabin, call him/her. Your butler will take care of anything inside the cabin: food orders, "how does thing work?" type questions, etc.

Yes. After you go through security and check in, they will bring you over to the VIP lounge and there is food and drink there and the concierge will give you your ID and someone will escort you onto the ship. IT'S WONDERFUL!!! :D

We were only in that room for about 60 seconds so I really didn't get a good look. lol

We've booked our first suite (only an AE) for Pearl in October.

I hope that's not the case for us.:o:(

I am not trying to hijack your thread, but see you have sailed HAL. I am trying to find out how the suites on NCL compare to Hal's. We really enjoy Hal's. I sailed a lot on NCL many years ago but was leary of free style cruising. If I should start a thread to ask i will, but if anyone has done both suites, could you share what the differences are?

I have read some people swearing on NCL's suites so I am asking.

Hal has the Neptune lounge which is very handy, concierge for everything, special coffees, munchies, laptop, place to relax, etc. does NCL have this?

Just asking and apologize if I am out of place :o Thank you.

The following thread is a "Live by LAFFNVEGAS" who usually sailed HAL suites and she compares NCL suites with HAL's. You should find it quite informative.
