Can anyone tell me if they have sailed on the Golden in cabin E729? I have heard it is a excellent cabin with a large balcony. My question is about the smell. Can you smell diesel fuel?? I thought I read somewhere that you could, my husband said not possible because the stack is on top of the ship. Would love to know about that. I hate the smell of fuel. Thanks!

Here are a few threads that talk about E729 on the Golden and no one mentions any adverse smell. As a matter of fact, everyone seems to rave about that cabin.

We were recently on the Golden, just a few cabins away from the one you speak of, and never smelled anything like "diesel fumes".

Occasionally, when the wind is blowing "just right", I have seen the exhaust from the stack of the ship being pushed downward to curl around forward and blow over the side of the ship. But I have been on the balcony at the time, and not smelled any exhaust odor.
