Does Carnival sell Future Cruise Credits?

Princess cruise line sells Future Cruise Credits (FCC) on their ships. When you are onboard, you can purchase an FCC for $100. This will then be your deposit toward your next cruise. When you use it you also get anywhere from $25-150 of onboard credit on that cruise. The FCC is good for up to 4 years. If you don't use it by then, they give your $100 back to you. It's a win-win deal and you can purchase as many as you like, but only when on a ship.

Does Carnival have a program like this?

Yes, the FCCs are good for 5 years, they are not the deposit, though they can be used toward a deposit booked onboard I understand. I buy them to bring home, and you have to snail mail them in. $50 to $200 assuming double occupancy. (half for solo)

Thanks for the answers so far. Can anyone explain how their program works in more detail? I may consider getting some if I know more about it. If the money doesn't go toward the deposit, then what is it for??

Well, when you snail mail them in certified mail ...it goes toward the final payment

I admit I have not used them to book onboard, those reps seem rather uninformed, so Id rather use my own PVP.

If you do book onboard, the extra is you get two friends and family certificates to bring home so they can book the same cruise and use them for two extra cabins.

5 days $50 OBC

6 days $75 OBC

7 days $100 OBC

12 or more $200

of course if you book after final payment, then it gets a little trickier ..but the above is the general idea. I booked 8 days before a cruise and had to rush to the post office, pay in full, get a $100 refund to my credit card etc...if you book earlier (after final payment but not so close to the cruise date as I did) I hear you can pay all but $100 (the cost of the FCC)

The OBC is only half this if you are cruising solo.

.... yes I said that in my first post ... sorry. I know its irratating, especially now that they are changing the 150% on 1As for solos.

The change almost two years ago with how they figured the 150% was a huge jump up in price too, almost as much on a cheap cruise ..this is now the second foot dropping BAM

How do you pay for FCC cert. on board? I would imagine they would use S&S account but wasn't sure if I should have my credit card handy when I head to the desk.

No, they charge the credit card you have on file for your cruise separately. It will come as a separate charge, not on your S&S.

You dont need to show your credit card.

The credit card that I link to my S&S account at embarkation (understanding it won't show up on my folio, but as a separate charge) or the card I used to purchase my cruise?

The one you put on file for your cruise. They dont keep the card number when you purchase a cruise on file at Carnival, or so my PVP tells me, so she has to ask me each time what the card number is when I book a new cruise.

Scoonrod, its my understanding there is a FCC agent now on all cruises. On Triumph she shared a part time desk with the shopping specialist across from the casino. I asked for 3 days where she was and not one employee knew who she was ..she finally had a talk and I went to find her that way. Unless you happened by the desk at the right time, you didnt know she was there.
