deck 7 is awesome. Its deck 8 that is under the pool deck.

 

deck 7 is sandwiched between two decks of cabins. No public place above you. (sorry- I thought you said you were on deck 8

You'll LOVE the aft cabin! We had 8275 on the Spirit in Nov. (same class ship) and it was wonderful. The stars at night, the wake, the panoramic view were ALL great!. Yes, soot once in a while...not a biggie. Yes , if you're standing at the rail and people above are standing at the rail they can see you at the rail. Most of the time there aren't people on the rail above you!

leaving the harbor at sailaway it was great. Everyone was at their rails--we were all laughing, toasting and chatting. If possible, I'll ALWAYS take an aft cabin.

Another plus: It's QUIET there! No long hallways with people talking loudy or kids running/screaming... The BEST place to be. At night it's dark on the balconies unless you put on you light.

Since the glass rail slants you can strectch out with legs under the slant. These aren't huge balconies (not as large as extended balconies on the side) but the view is worth it!:)
