It has finally happened! Epic's first guests boarded the ship today. I am soooo jealous! You can see those lucky guests on NCLs latest youtube video, "the final preparations."

Is anyone else going to be glued to the computer today and tomorrow hoping for some more pictures?

Oh, and I updated my Epic slideshow, "From Renderings to Reality." I anticipate it will need another update very soon!

I think it's a little bit of all.

I know that NCL is doing a VIP lunch, but I'm not sure if that was today or tomorrow? I also know that you could have bought tickets for this one first sail. I think they were being sold through NCL's UK site. I'm sure though that some invitations were extended to press, etc.

I actually was crazy enough to price a trip just to be on this first sail, but I ended up having an important meeting on Tuesday, and I wouldn't have been able to get back in time. Plus, that would have been a little crazy even for me. I think it may have been more of a tease than anything else, because I wouldn't have wanted to get off the ship after such a short period of time.

I thought today and tomorrow were just for travel industry and invited guests. We're booked on the 1st fare paying cruise which is Monday 21st sailing from Rotterdam to Southampton! Can't wait :D

Fly out to Amsterdam tomorrow

Epic get ready ....... cos here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Maybe you are right lynquenby. I think I was looking at a one night cruise, and tonight's is a two night cruise, correct?

So I guess it's just those lucky invited guests and travel industry.

I'm thinking I picked the wrong industry to work in!

Here's the fotki picture page for one of the travelers. Lots more pictures, including dim sum. :)

Thanks for the link. The food looks amazing and I can't wait till it's my turn to try everything, I'm sure I'll put a couple extra pounds on by the end of this cruise. I also noticed the escalator in the casino in photo #93. I wonder how many escalators there are on the Epic?
