KroozeKid Posted June 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2010 We boooked this excursion for the July 11 CB sailing. Can anyone advise the type of clothing we should plan on bringing besides the obvious good walking/hiking shoe. I was planning on having in my daypack an anorak type of rain slicker with a hood. Is it reccomended for a walking short or long pants option? Probably extremely humid but not sure if real "buggy". Your advice/experiences are appreciated. Druke I Posted June 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2010 It has been some years, but when we did the rain forest in Costa Rica, we both wore lomg sleeved shirts and long trousers - just to avoid any bug issues. I don't know how different the rain forest conditions might be in Puerto Rico. We also had nylon "shell" jackets in case it rained (it did not). Colo Cruiser Posted June 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2010 El Yunque is a great little hike. I suggest very light clothes and shorts. It HOT!!! Bring your swim trunks too for a dip at the waterfall.

mina Posted June 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Puerto Rico is experiencing a denge fever epidemic. As such, you should always wear long sleeves and slacks when anywhere with mesquitos - be sure to put on lost of bug spray as well.
