Missmypomswhencruising Posted June 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2010 how many rooms do you need to have booked to get a group discount? Or does it go my amount of people. Or maybe even a room credit??
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2010 I believe it is 8 cabins. EM
klfrodo Posted June 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2010 8 cabins double occupancy. Really, it's not even a discount. You just get "Group" pricing. With that "Group" pricing comes some amenities based upon what you select. Those amenities can be anything from a free berth credit, to free group photos, to free open bar party, to free OBC. Prices would actually be cheaper if you just book ES and then have all your friends just "link" their booking number to yours so you can all be seated together for dinner. CWcruisers Posted June 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2010 klfrodo is right. When you do a group, they usually won't give you the cheapest categories. Groups only make sense if you have a lot of cabins.
C&THollings Posted June 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2010 I check into this also with my upcomming cruise. My PVP told me I was better off with Easy Saver, the rate was less even with the OBC offered. I am thinking I was told that with the group rate, you lose the price protection too, not 100% on this. And it is definitely 8 cabins... I tried booking 16 people in 6 cabins... No go. klfrodo is right. When you do a group, they usually won't give you the cheapest categories. The downside to this (booking ES) is should one or more of the friends have to cancel the deposit is nonrefundable.....;)
