TheInnocentAge Posted November 17, 2015 #652 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Ship – Oasis of the Seas Deck - 11 Stateroom # - 11240 Stateroom Category: OS (Owners Suite) Starboard or Port Side: Port side. Quiet Stateroom (With comments on problems)? Yes, very quiet. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? Yes. Balcony View - Beautiful view, no obstructions. Balcony Size? Big, but normal for this class of cabin. The cabin is on one of the humps, so the balcony is approximately 10 feet deep and about 24 feet across. There are two full size padded loungers with a small round table between them. There is also a larger table with four chairs, which is great to sit at for meals if you decide to have breakfast or dinner delivered to your cabin and decide to dine on your balcony. Was wind a problem? No wind problems, just a slight breeze on the balcony. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A. Any specific problems with this cabin? No problems at all, this is a great cabin. Any other comments? The cabin is huge, has plenty of chairs and couches, TVs in both the living room and bedroom areas, has a dining area with a round table and with four chairs, and tons of closet and drawer space. The bathroom is a nice size and has two sinks, Jacuzzi bathtub, and a large glass shower area. Great water pressure too. We would definitely book this cabin again. For the most part, yes. Sometimes music from the pool deck during the day could be heard. Did not bother us since we weren't in the room much. Quiet at night. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No Balcony View - Central Park (see photos) Balcony Size? Normal Was wind a problem? No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? No Any other comments? This cabin is a good compromise for those who want a balcony but cannot afford ocean view. We wanted to try something different this time. I missed seeing the water so I don't know if I'd book it again but it was a perfectly good room. Good location too, not too far from elevators and over Park Cafe. Normal or oversized for class? - Hump balcony. Oversized. Was wind a problem? - Never. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - None at all. Any other comments? - Terrific location right off the centrum elevators. Super quiet. Fantastic location. Loved it. The only complaint is that when I viewed pictures of the balcony others had posted, there were 2 regular chairs and two loungers in the photo. When we boarded there were no loungers. We asked the cabin steward for 2 more chairs and never did receive them. The balcony is huge with plenty of room for them. (With comments on problems) – Quiet in regards to passengers and ship functions. We did notice a lot of squeaking while we sailed, as if some of the bolts used to connect the cabin cubicles hadn't been tighten all the way. It wasn't enough to keep us awake though. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Obstructed balcony gave view of life boat 13. However, since this room was on the beginning of the hump, you could also see part way towards the aft of the ship. There is a small outdoor smoking section further aft, but we never had a smell of smoke. Balcony Size? Because it was handicap accessible, it was spacious. My cruise pal and I loved the virtual balcony. We left it on 24/7. It was advertised as having sounds of the sea, but we found this was mostly non-existent. It will be hard to go back to a regular interior room after this. I'm ruined! Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. - Absolutely amazing! Perfect view all the way forward and aft as centre hump cabin. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - I believe it is normal for the class of stateroom but it is the centre hump cabin and it did feel very large. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Not really, just a minor case of inconsiderate guests. Sometimes people would congregate outside as near the elevators/stairs and be quite loud. However, during unsociable hours, most people were considerate. Any other comments? - Fantastic cabin. Perfect location for the Concierge Lounge and aft elevators. For those interested, muster station is B21, on the deck 4 promenade outside Bolero's starboard side. No soot noted Quiet cabin except for engine noise, wind whistling from high winds & rough seas. Rough sailing with quite a bit of rain on sea days. Last night I felt like we were in a mixmaster or a slingshot had to hold on to stay in bed. Don't think we'll book another aft, at least on this deck Edited November 30, 2015 by awhfy

(With comments on problems) – Room itself was very quiet. The people above us (in Grand Suite) thought it was ok to let their child walk on the tiled floor in the room, and out on the balcony, in high heels. Yelled out a few times to them to please stop. I would say most people would never hear the neighbors above. Most people would not walk loudly in heels, or allow their child to do that. Otherwise never heard anything from outside in hallway, and we were very close to the lift area. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - A hump cabin, with this one being towards the back of the aft. The balcony was a bit larger than standard, and while there was no view hard forward, you could see plenty in all directions. The cabins along the straight of the ship could not see into your balcony (or you into theirs) due to the way Voyager is built with quite protected balcony area. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Slightly larger than standard due to the hump. Could not see into other balconies. We felt very private. Was wind a problem? - Not at all. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - It is in the centre of the ship, only on the aft of the hump section. Any specific problems with this cabin? - No, loved it. Any other comments? - So convenient to the lift bank that takes you to all food areas. Had to really hang out of the balcony for this shot. (With comments on problems) – Very quiet inside the stateroom. It is on Deck 10 under the Windjammer, but there is a air intake above deck 10. So there was no noise at all from the Windjammer area. When on the balcony however you could not hear the sound of the waves as well as on a lower deck due to the air hum. It was not loud, but we really like listening to the waves out on the balcony. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no Balcony View - Good view in each direction. On one side there is the full steel hull, and on the other a glass partition so not quite as private, but we never had issues with neighbors. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - no Any other comments? - Due to the cabins past us being D1 category (3 or 4 pax) and at the aft there are two Junior Suites with large balconies, we found there was a few children running heavily past, and families talking and yelling in the hallway. Normally we have found the doors to be quite soundproof but maybe we have just been luckier with quieter neighbors in the past. The green area is the air intake vents. Some balconies did not have an opening above. Ours was the first one in the last bunch. Edited December 4, 2015 by goodycruising

We just had a normal room with a balcony. This room is located right off of the elevators on the 6th floor by the boardwalk. This was very convenient for us as the stairs/elevators were right there and my husband enjoyed grabbing a snack at the hot dog place on the boardwalk. With so much happening on the 5th floor, we could just run down the stairs and we were there. Even though we were right by the entrance and everyone in hallway had to walk past us, we didn't notice any noise. Wind wasn't an issue. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for, but we were very happy in the location of this room and the room itself :)

I stayed in 6585 on the Oasis this week. This is an large interior Cat N that they added during the last dry dock. The room itself is great but being just above Boleros, there is thumping bass every night until almost 1AM. Also this stateroom is next to what appears to be a crew break room so there is noise from there in the morning as well. Not sure if walls are thinner than the original cabins, but I could also hear the TV in the cabin next door. I would not choose one of these cabins again. The stateroom attendant will do this in the evening. Strange thing was we had gotten calls in the night telling us our shades were open when they weren't. This happened twice.
