Elegant Night Dress

We are going on the Triumph and while this isn't the exact dress I have, I have something very similar in my closet already. However, is this too dressy for Elegant night? Mine is completely floor length, even with my heels.

While I"m sure some people still dress up, are we talking like 5% or like 50% of people on the cruise go really dressy? this is my first cruise and I'm nervous I'll be way too dressed up.

Beautiful dress. You will see people from all sides of the spectrum. They have different photo stops on elegant nights as well. Alot of people dress up, have pictures taken, go to dinner, and then usually change back in to comfortable clothes. Others stay dressed all night.

I'm not a dress person, but wore dressy slacks and a very dressy top. I have seen people in gowns and tuxes, suits and pantsuits, even jeans and sweaters on my recent Alaskan cruise.

So, imho, I don't think you will be too dressed up. Enjoy yourself. People will be looking at how gorgeous you look dressed up not wondering why you are dressed up.

I think you'd look lovely in this dress. There isn't anything to be nervous about. This is YOUR cruise to enjoy. Hopefully you'll get a lot of female CC members to agree. I still, because it's my cruise, wear a tuxedo on elegant night, just because I want to.Have a great time, and I think you'll look smashing in the dress.

I am going on a cruise 10 days and I have 2 formal nights and BOTH of my dresses are floor length. I was a little apprehensive at first because a lot of people are going to slacks and cocktail dresses according to these boards, but I have changed my attitude to this is MY cruise and MY night to shine, so SHINE I will! GO for it!

Here is one of my dresses: http://www.spiegel.com/shop/popup_lgview.aspx?style_id=36934272&zoom=1&effortstyle=SP 44968 and I will accessorize with flashy jewelry and shoes.

I'd say it's PERFECT for elegant night! While not everybody dresses up, I think the majority still does. Or, it may be that I look right through those who don't dress? Either way, I'd say you will look and feel just right for the evening! I just bought my 16 year old a "prom-ish" dress for our 5 day this September. She is so excited, and it's the perfect time to get them on clearance!

Just returned from a Carnival cruise. Your dress will be perfect. There were women in long dresses, short cocktail dresses, church dresses. There were some that were under dressed in my opinion, but they seemed in the minority. Enjoy your elegant night.

Elegant night is what you make of it. And as a lot of posters have already said there will be a mix of dressers, so quite frankly, whatever you choose you will fit in somewhere. That's one of the best parts about a cruise!

I say if you wear what makes you feel fabulous ... then that's what will shine from you that night. It's a beautiful dress. Wear it and be fabulous!

While this dress would look terrific, I see that it's 100% silk.... I love silk, but rarely travel with it. Toooooo many wrinkles for me! (Just something for you to consider).
